Alright, this won't be popular but I used to like getting on these forums and right now I can not stand them. So here it goes. Stop complaining guys! Destiny, like all video games is a form of entertainment, a form of entertainment provided by Bungie. If you're honest with yourself it is probably the cheapest form of entertainment in your life. For all the day one people bragging that they are over 1000 hours and deserve this or that, don't you realize that you haven't given Bungie 1000 hours, it's the other way around? If you spent $80 dollars on the Digital Guardian edition and played 1000 hours then you paid .08c per hour of entertainment. 8 CENTS AN HOUR! How much do you think 1000 hours at a bar or theme park costs? You want it to constantly be updating and nerfing and buffing, adding new maps, upgrading and maintaining servers, new raids and strikes, which is fine, fair even, but do you want the developers and engineers to just work for free? And another thing for the most loyal players. BUNGIE NEEDS YOU, You are integral to its success. Yes, the game hasn't been perfect, but that's to be expected, it's the first of its kind. If you want it to get better, if you want it to last 10 years and give you all it promised, then you need Bungie to get more players, and more funds to work on it. So yeah, BUNGIE NEEDS TO INCENTIVIZE NEW PLAYERS TO JOIN THE GAME. If every new player had to grind hundreds of hours to be allowed to play with their friend who had it from the start, they would never buy it, and eventually the game would die. It's not about fair, it's about it being as much fun for as many people as possible. Yes, for profit, but also sustainability. If you're not going to buy The Taken King because you have lost faith that the game will live up to your expectations? That's fine, that's your choice. If you aren't going to buy it because $40 dollars isn't worth the time and enjoyment you will get out of it? Fine, it's a free market, that's supply and demand. But if you are going to boycott it and complain that it isn't priced fairly because you think you are entitled to something, then I think you're the one being selfish. So I'll end by saying this: Thank you Bungie, for giving me a fun way to spend 400-500 hours the last year, something to look forward to when I'm at work on Tuesdays and a way to socially keep in touch with friends across the country since I moved. I haven't bought The Taken King yet, simply because I do not have the funds yet, but I will, and I can't wait for September 15th (My Birthday, woot woot). Also, I stand by what I said about Bungie, but don't condone the tone that Luke Smith took towards is consumer, not smart or respectful, but it was somewhat taken out of context.
