Right here is the main point that all people who complain about thorn. We want to play a game where we are not forced to use one single type of gun in order to compete. Face it, scout rifles, auto rifles as of right now have no place in the crucible. I get so bored when I'm trying out new guns, and then start to get killed over and over by the same gun used by most of the other team, it then forces me to slap on my thorn or LW. Really sucks the fun and skill out of the game. Telling us to "get good" because we refuse to use the same overpowered gun that everyone else is using completely misses our point. Thorn has mad target aim assist. You thorn users, give a legendary hand cannon a whirl and you'll see quickly how many shots you miss with it, that would of been hits with the thorn.

You are a smart dude. A lot of people proposed taking out the dot, or severely nerfing it's range, when in truth the fix is much simpler. The target acquisition on this weapon is out of control, it's simply too easy to get head shots. Most really good thorn players wouldn't be affected by the nerf, A lot of people wouldn't even notice it. Currently, it's too easy to simply spam down a hallway and get free kills. This is not based on what is being done to me, rather based on my experience using this weapon.

Yes exactly, I've started using fatebringer in crucible and in a lot of spots there's times when I could of saved my life and got a kill if I was using a thorn, but it's become really satisfying to get kills with the Fatebringer. Face it, how is it balanced, when the thorn becomes practical in all maps, and in every battle. Vs a sniper I get the body shot, he's red bar, I get hit by the thorn once, I'm red bar. The only times when the thorn is useless is shotty range and vs the LW close range. I'm disappointed with the fact, let's say I got a guy running towards me with a shotty, there's enough distance to get a kill with the thorn, but I'm using and auto, and it just doesn't cut it. That's the spots where autos are supposed to be used in, but it barely will take him down to crit condition. And I get the fact that after a thorn nerf there will be something else to complain about, but this is different. Why would I want to be forced to use the same gun as everyone else to compete. It's become dull, predictable, and no longer is it based on skill when the gun does the killing vs the skill of the one shooting it. After the thorn nerf, a lot of people will realize that they will be left naked in crucible and will no longer be able to hide behind their gun.
