What, he was being rude. All people are asking for, is that they explain why year ones don't get any support like bungie promised. Yet you sit here calling the people you started out with whiney?

  • The interviewer was being rude. If that were me getting interviewed, I would have shown him the same amount of respect that he directed toward me (which was very little). Bungie, DeeJ and Luke have all explained how they plan on honoring Day One players. Several times. Personally, I am happy with the options. I agree that name-calling is unnecessary. I shouldn't have stooped to that level. Unfortunately, that appears to be the "level" at which this community communicates. Bad decision on my behalf, but it is also unarguably accurate. I feel no comradary with these complainers. I feel a much closer connection to the developers who continue to support the complainers and continue to build an amazing game in the face of such brutal negativity.

Sorry about the tl;dr message I'm tired and may have also repeated myself I think you missed the point of his efforts. He was attempting to convey the voice of the community through proxy. You justify his attitude right off which is arrogant and snobby. All he wants is to get answers for the community as to what is going on. Luke outright states that the only people who matter to him are people who pay him money for what he has done. Again there is nothing wrong with this, but he's being rude about it. The whole article is written in a way that makes it seem like both parties are bringing out the worst in each other. Luke seems to want to convey he doesn't care about year on players, and that he doesn't want emotes and stuff being sold seperate. He wants them sold together because he wants the most money, at the end of the day this is understandable. The issue over all, is that he says it as though the player doesn't deserve what he has to offer and that its a privilege were even allowed to listen to him speak. He's pompous, his tone is made harsh from the get go. He's baiting with his attitude. I hope that sums it up. Your not wrong about agreeing with his business practice, we as the consumer are allowed to make whatever decision we want, but the person conveying this information was mean and is being intentionally mean, like he came out to tell people "you don't like it, good thats how I intended it." with a huge smirk on his face. That is not at all how bungie has handled each issue look at there past practices you can tell they know when they have messed up, the way deej handled all this was good, sure it dodged the issue with luke at hand but that's bungie for ya. I trust deej though.

  • I appreciate the respectful tone in which you responded. I don't necessarily agree with your take on the interview. I think we (like many others) are interpreting the interview in a way that is vilifying one party or the other based on our own preconceptions of the content that Bungie is offering. I am not claiming that my view is correct, but we definitely disagree. I respect your opinion and will agree that both parties could have tried a bit harder to make that interview more friendly.

  • I didn't think the interviewer was being rude. I actually felt like he was asking the exact same questions and voicing the frustrations I had in my mind after seeing the packages available. I felt like the interviewer had the Destiny player's/consumer's best interest in mind when he was asking his questions.

  • Fair enough; I agree with you. I feel that he did have the fans' best interests at heart. Where I generally part ways with the rest of the community in this thread, however, is that I would say the same about Luke, DeeJ and Bungie as well.
