I had planned to always buy every DLC because I love Destiny, PvE especially.
That interview actually made me decide not to buy TTK or any other Bungie product until they actually show they have a human side again.
It hurts. I really want to play TTK and whatever else they make, at least campaign-wise, because it's always been fun to me. Overpriced, yes, but still fun. I was unsure of buying Destiny in the first place given the fact that they unethically fired Marty O'Donnell (and probably Joseph Staten), and I knew this was a dangerous omen to their future.
This is the first time I've allowed my principles to dictate whether or not I purchase something that I want to purchase. Maybe I'm finally growing up!
I still have a strong feeling that Activision was the original poison that caused the destruction of Bungie.
It's eerie. Activision is to Bungie as Oryx is to the Taken.

Edited by basedmart: 6/23/2015 6:52:42 AMIm with you. They blatantly said that they made the Collectors Edition to make more money. Its Bullshit, the way they're locking out content, like we all know they love to do, for year one players. They say were gonna get something better but we should be getting that stuff on top of the stuff in the Collectors Edition. Only problem is is that a lot of the year one players may not be around to get that content after this controversy. You're right, Bungie isn't human anymore, they're in it for the money. Thats it. They obviously don't care about the consumer anymore. And I for one see your view and I probably won't be buying TTK either. It just doesn't feel right to support them anymore.

Edited by The lone genius: 6/23/2015 3:23:31 AMYou're wrong. The original poison was Bungie itself. Reach received a very mixed reaction from the Halo community and it also had content issues in relation to multiplayer maps (relying on forge as a crutch to fill the gap). Luke Smith and Sage were smug back then and bragging about how broken armor lock was, ect. Bungie choose to fire people during Halo 3's development and Reach's development that were core members of the Halo CE, 2, and 3 development teams. I'm not just talking about Marty and Joe Staten, but also devs like Jaime Jaime Griesemer and Joe Tung. I remember reading a very detailed list in a mlg thread a couple years back. Obviously Bungie still has a ton of core people from the original development team. It's not just that Bungie lost a dozen key pieces, but they also put smug idiots like Luke Smith into lead designer positions. Can anyone honestly say that Prison of Elder's is better designed than ODST's Firefight? ODST was developed by only a portion of Bungie at the time...most of the company was working on Reach yet ODST has more content than Destiny if you treat it as an expansion (which it was originally marketed as). Just with the budget and amount of time it's easy to see that Bungie is lazy and unorganized as hell with the direction of the game.

Good point. I've also firmly believed, since the launch of Destiny, that Reach was actually market research for the former. Vanity gear, daily story and multiplayer bounties. It was actually very similar, mechanically.

Activision certainly hasn't helped things, but yeah, I remember those days too. Thinking more about it, you're right. I guess Bungie started to fall after Reach. Heh. Fall of Reach. Heh. Ugh.

I still really want to know what happened to Marty. That seemed pretty shady.
