Interesting thing about capital punishment, back in the days of the Roman Republic there was a conspiracy to overthrow the government. You're all probably saying "Caesar", right? Wrong. Catiline was his name, and when he was brought before the Senate there were people on both sides. Cicero was for the death of catiline, and Caesar (this is the Caesar you thought of earlier) was against it. I always remember this in the debate over capital punishment.
