That's your right, and we respect your freedom to make decisions about what you find valuable.
The Collector's Edition is mostly sold out, so the people who found that stuff valuable jumped at the chance. You'll likely see it sold on ebay for much more than what we're asking. But that's not the point. Right?
The real conversation here is: What are we doing to honor you, the players who have been bound to Destiny in this first year of action and adventure? I'm glad you asked. I'm going to answer in the Bungie Weekly Update.

Or, we could be idiots and re-buy the entire game. Over reacting like some of these people commenting isn't what I'd do. But I think they've got a right to be mad right now. Just, not THIS mad.

Well this mad is how we get attention, they already ignore half the threads unless it something they like, but this went so high up almost every gaming news site is reporting it, it's harsh, but sometimes the only way to be heard is to scream as loud as you can.

So you need to rake in new players? Does that mean that your game is slowly but surely going down the -blam!-ing pan. I have been on destiny since the beta but my god you have made a half assed attempt at keeping up with the community,it's like you have been feeding us through a -blam!-ing drip, bit by bit. I hope destiny fails I really do because if you succeed in this then other game company's are going to follow suit and it's going to get a hole lot worse for the consumer, it's not like everybody is made of -blam!-ing money is it! Wow you have sold out on your special additions but how many did you ship? Just because people have bought it doesn't make it -blam!-ing right!

What better way to show everyone your a year one player, than displaying it during the game. Is this not the trend you set when we recieve the new ship/ shader/ emblem from beating Atheon/Crota/Skolas. A way for us to show others our accomplishments. Do we not attain the armor for besting your challenges? Why not follow suit for year one? Yes you've offered a sparrow/ shader/ emblem, thanks, but complete the offering an also offer us a full armor set. Weapons are another matter, I wouldn't expect a complete line of weapons to be given. But maybe one to be chosen from a possible three of your choosing. Again just following trends you've established. I like the fact you get to choose from the Cypher bounty which one you'd like or like first. That was brilliant!

So, how many collector's editions were there? 100, 1,000, 10,000? I agree, they will be on Ebay, not for the game, but the coin and special REAL stuff. Fallout 4 pipboy edition sold out in 2 hours (probably less really), many will be on Ebay. That does not mean much, though. Somewhere it was stated 37% of current players have preordered. Is this current players, or total? Current players DOES NOT EQUAL TOTAL. I know easily 5 people who have the game, but are fed up and no longer play. 20 million accounts does not equal 20 million players. Just ask WOW, or pretty much any MMO. My guess is current players, which is a much smaller number. I know the last time I was on, there were significantly less people than normal. Might be because Destiny is becoming a Tuesday and Friday game: Tuesday due to reset, Friday for Xur.

My thoughts exactly on the activity being just a Tuesday gathering or a Friday half-hearted attempt at socializing while gunning down peeps. With a maybe side-order of checking out Xur's stuff.

Now you don't even need to get on destiny for Xur's inventory unless he has something you need to buy, so really only a Tuesday game.

I wouldnt be surprised if the teased items you plan to announce in the upcoming Bungie weekly update are the same exact items already confirmed (sparrow, sharders and emblem) lol

Stalling tatic -_- DEEJ its not fair to give year 2 players stuff that year 1 players have been asking for, since TDB unless year 1 players rebuy the game. If you want to label it 'exclusive' then make it exclusive to TTK. Not to the up-to-date-destiny. Make it so everyone get the sparrow, the shaders and the emotes who buys the taken king, in any version. The $80 collecters edition is only a deal for those starting out to get all three expansions and the orginal game. As a year 1 player, since TDB I've always thought it would be a nice touch if we could customize our emote load out. Now there's a chance of it, but only if I rebuy the whole game a over again? Bull. Shit. Sir.
