Will i be able to ascend my fatebringer and black hammer in taken king?
I want this to be touched on. I enjoy using the fatebringer and currently putting all my time into farming black hammer in hopes of getting it. I dont want to put all this time into it just for taken king to remove them or make them useless. It may also affect my decision in buying the dlc and kill the urge to play destiny anymore

3 RepliesIf they're smart, they'll make at least any raid weapons and gear from VoG and Crota able to ascend. Otherwise what reason would people have to do those 2 raids anymore?

I feel each Dlc should have a material that can be used to bring any Legendary up to that dlcs max damage and light lv. Sane goes for Exotics just you need an Exotic Shard each time. So if they think us using vanilla weapons still a long time from now then they should take it as a challenge to introduce perks and new styles of weapons to entice us to upgrade. It should be up to Bungie to get us to upgrade, not force us to.

Well, they were fan favorite guns..so naturally Bungie is going to everything possible to ruin your experience with them in year 2. That's their process: see what people like and find ways of taking it away.

Nothing official on this topic has been announced by Bungie, but I have a feeling we won't because Bungie will want us to use the new weapons.

No, but even if you could you arent going to enjoy the black hammer anymore, Bungies nerfing it to dust and making it a plain sniper that has a hive theme

Nope. Confirmed that legendaries of year one cannot be ascended to year two. Exotics still unknown. Good, it gives everything time to change. Keep that one weapon you like close, but it will only be for sentimental reasons.

When the "343 rejects" who run this game ascend in their intelligence level, we will be able to. Until then, Bungies IQ is the same as always. Too low and boring to utilize for 10 years.

I don't think so, fatebringer is the best hand canon in the game (legendary at least) and so there's not point in making more hand canons of the best one possible was already made. I like the idea of moving on to new weapons as long as they reduce the grind so that it's at least enjoyable (which they did a little too much in HoW). I'm still keeping my fatebringer though :)

1 Replyabsolutely will. probably. we may see an increased effort to create new weapons worth using instead but we'll see post-ttk "evolve to maximum attack available in year 2" upgrades sometime in September.

I would assume so. After making them relevant then taking that relevance away would suck.

A new player that comes along and meets a person from LFG and asks "what the heck weapon is that?! It wrecks!" You say "that's fatebringer from hard VOG raid" new player gets on the VOG grind for a fatebringer. If they keep old weapons relevant the raids stay relevant. If there's always people doing raids then I'll always have a reason to hop in a raid. If someone needs help I help them out. I really hope they allow us to ascend our gear further. Especially armor pieces. Everyone will still look how they want, but it would be nice to have matching weapons with out gear

Right now you can ascend them both to 365.,. As for increasing it after TTK I'm not too sure many people know the awnser to that.

I really hope they make something to ascend your weapons there is nothing more that pisses me off to work so hard for my weapons that i have and then be told oh well looks like your weapons are nothing but shit now so drop them like they did to all the legendary weapons in the original game going to the dark below.... I liked the new thing where you can bring your weapons up from the house of wolves it gives a challenge but hey you bring your weapons up I hope they keep that idea of doing that

1 ReplyWhen they made the "upgrade" with crota it -blam!-ing sucked. I couldn't be max level without looking like count chocola. The best gear looked like it was infested with termites. I hated the look of hive gear. And they didn't add enough to replace the old. You had little to no selection. "We want individual players but want them all to play in the exact same way and look the same and use the same damn hand cannon." I also hate doing something so difficult like trials only to have my earned gear made useless come September.

I hope so. I dislike the weapons in HoWs as it is. I weapons I use are my go to items.

I find it hilarious that they bring in Etheric Light to provide an upgrade path and then three months later its "trolololol, surprise buttsecs bitches!!!"
