The mechanics are stated. You just have to read the weapons description 1 and a half times to understand it.

Also: "...a causal loop within the weapon's mechanism, suggesting that the firing process somehow binds space and time into…" Does not nearly give any information on how the weapon works. If anything, it implies that there's a change in how this particular Fusion Rifle functions.

It sounds like its an ordinary fusion rifle but has a specific mechanism in it which has a different time progression than the one youre in. Like a worm hole for example. From here to the moon is like, 3 days? So if you went through a wormhole that crunches the space between you and the moon, you get there faster. The mechanism sounds like it does something similar to make the charge time seem instant in the guardians time. This also makes the pocket infinity's description sound like its somewhat the same since it talks about a doorway which is time since it fires its rounds after a single charge.
