The Secret Of Sandtrap Has Been Found! By The Noisy Killa and RampantKing

I was looking around certain maps on forge and noticed something strange. They all had this peculiar coding in them. The maps were Sandtrap, Epitaph and Construct. On certain walls of the maps you can see a code that is the same throughout the different maps. Also if you zoom in on the wall code you can see it very slowly moves upwards. Here is the same code on the three maps. Construct Code Epitaph Code Sandtrap Code However the coding on Sandtrap's walls does not move (most likely because of a lack of power in the ruins) we can assume these ruins are Forerunner because of the same code on three maps with two of them defintely being Forerunner. What is this code then? I'm going ahead to say it is Forerunner Language or data. What it means is totally inconclusive as there is nothing to go on. But anyways back to the point. I beleive that this shows that Sandtrap was an abandonned Forerunner structure. I do not know what it may be. Possibly a power station? This would lead to why Brutes and Humans would excavate it. The power flow in Sandtraps ruins though is very limited. That is why the code has gone from white/blue to bronze. However when I looked closer I noticed some things. When you go to the pillar in the ruins (beneath where the mine spawns) and fly to the top of it (in forge mode) you can see a blue "surge of power" going behind the un moving code. Notice in this picture A first hand viewing of this will prove my point. Secondly there is a strange glyph that is in the ceiling and floor in the next room. Its fairly obvious if you are looking for it. Its in the next room to the pillar. Strange Glyph You know that gap in the middle of the ruins? I think that there was another piece of corridor that connected the two separated ruins. I think it may have been removed and excavated to remove sand so they could enter further to find the Glyph and Pillar. Notice how theres a groove leading down to this "incision" this suggests it was dug out. Imagine that there is a piece missing it would fit! Here is also another image of what Sandtrap looked like before its ruin Sandtrap Restored Parts of Sandtrap are lop sided, sunken and buried because of time and rust I'm guessing. But if you imagine the parts that are half buried were not you can actually see the symmetry of what the structure must have been once like. I believe that the "prize" of Sandtrap that was fought over by the Covenant and the Humans was the fact it could reveal more Forerunner power and knowledge. However when they got to it they couldn't figure it out theirself! I also am lead to believe that Epitaph and Sandtrap are on the same planet/installation. The only reason is the matching codes and the fact their surroundings are both incredibly desert like. Also notice the structure poking out the sand in this pic it is similar to that of the ring that surrounds Sandtrap. Epitaph Sands This all leads me to a conclusion. Sandtrap is definitely Forerunner. Sandtrap, Epitaph and Construct all share the same code. Sandtrap may have used to look like the "cathedral" that Epitaph is based in. Sandtrap is a source of power that was excavated and fought over by Human and Covenant alike (explains the crashed Albatross, Scarab, Elephants and Frigate in the sky) The secret of Sandtrap is that there was many a battle for this unknown source of power. Which still remains as secret as the Forerunners themselves. However before I finish I do wish to show one more secret revealed. You know that crazy blue floaty thing on Guardian in the Blue room? Dont tell me it doesn't look like an eye to you However that investigation is for another day... Secret found? -The Noisy Killa *UPDATE* The secret has been found!
Posted by: RampantKing You know how Bungie asked different people that played Sandtrap in in-studio demos like IGN to say some things but not others? (Example: say it is big but don't say that it has a banshee) Well Bungie asked IGN to mention Relic in one of their posts, and the discription for Relic in Halo 2 was... "Covenant scripture dictates that structures of this type are memorials to Forerunners who fell in battle against the Flood" Also, Sandtrap and Relic both have a crashed Albatross on the map.

You've cracked it! Sandtrap is the burial place of Forerunner Heroes against the flood for sure! The thing about the crypt room! The connection between Relic and Sandtrap! The Hieroglyphics are probably still there to show it has religeous importance or somethng! I beleive you and I have found the Secret Of Sandtrap!
Thank you to RampantKing Our knowledge has finally revealed what I believe is the secret of Sandtrap! It is simply a burial place for Forerunner Heroes who fought against the flood! Thank you again this must be the Secret! There was battle over it to find the true identity of the Forerunners (ie a corpse or something) but they couldn't open the crypt! Thats as far as it goes! Yeah! [Edited on 01.04.2009 3:59 PM PST]

 • I am going to go out on a limb and say you are all crazy. If I showed you all a picture of a cluster of dots and said that their was a picture of an animal in it, your mind would automatically contort the image and make you belive that there was something there. It is a simple mind trick. Who knows for sure if there is even any secret of sandtrap. Even if somebody does find something, there is always boubt.

 • I respect this post ten times more than the other Secret of Sandtrap thread. You have an idea, and actually test it out. But, and I was the same way in the old thread, I will be disagreeing with you. You're evidence is inconclusive. I see how there is a connection between the geography of Epitaph and Sandtrap, and how there are similar inscriptions on both maps, but this really doesn't lead to any sort of discovery. It doesn't automatically mean that Sandtrap is some sort of cemetery. But I would really like to see you prove me wrong. Show me how those things make Sandtrap a gravesite. Also, I feel like you keep saying things we already know. You said that there was a battle between humans and brutes for control of Sandtrap. We already know there was. It says so in the description. Also you said that Sandtrap is on a Forerunner installation... we knew that already, too. In short, I see your evidence, but I don't see how it leads to Sandtrap being a cemetery, and also you haven't really told us anything new.

 •
Posted by: Annoy_Sumo This post is just about speculating (what if, but if really, bla bla bla) what the symbols mean and shiat... Complete bull-blam!-, it's a multiplayer map (as said before). Bungie did think about how can we create a map that relates to the story of Halo, the fore-runners, etc and they put a easter egg in it that could be somehow the biggest in video game history (but you somehow have to activate it like the skull in campaign where you gotta go thru awesome light-rings [yay]. It also could be a reference as easter egg but there is none, so it is a "must get activated" easter egg somewhere in the game). Please if you want to speculate, theorize and discuss no problem but please do it about "What will happen after you die", "How will the future look like", "Mind over matter?", "Time-travel", etc. Not about a video game, your wasting your time on "user created content" (ha-ha-ha) while you could give your -blam!- to a discussion that last's since mankind exists (kinda) f.E "The Reason of your Life" even if your point of view or theory about that sounds like complete bull-blam!- it is your theory and could be true. Thanks' for the enlightenment Annoy-Sumo... (If Bungie really does hide clues on the web, you can do your homework about that but not about the possbiel "history" of a map on Halo 3...)
Hey buddy. Take your "Enlightenment" to a thread that cares.
