Lamentations (Story)

((Disclaimer: A story before the events of my previous story, 'The Lighthouse'. It's the aftermath of a Vault of Glass raid that ended in tragedy. Got REALLY feels punchy for me when I wrote this, I hope I did not tug at too many heartstrings of you fellow guardians! For a song in the background of this story, I recommend 'Father and Son' from the TRON: Legacy soundtrack simply because the atmosphere of the music fits. Enjoy!)) -- A soft hiss from the opened door, a heavy hearted awoken warlock pushed herself through, the orange glow of her eyes accented well in the darkness of her small loft on the Tower. In her arms was a dead ghost and an ornate hand cannon which the awoken set on a table near a couch where she eventually sat. Her eyes met the gun, eyes almost immediately welling up with tears, hiding her face in her hands as she began to cry for what seemed to be a second time. Rhmira...please, you aren't gone, she thought in sad disbelief, trying to cease her crying. A faint flicker from the dead Ghost's eye caught her surprised attention, eyes widening as the dim glow eventually formed a video message, the guardian on this message was an awoken titan, smiling as much as she possibly could to her Ghost. This caused the warlock to break down into another crying fit, albeit slightly harder as it was her voice, it was her, explaining her situation to any who would have found her ghost. It was Rhmira. "To anyone who finds this Ghost, bring it to the warlock known as Sydri. But if...it is Sydri who finds this Ghost, I have always loved you. We may have fought before raiding the Vault, but never once have I stopped loving you." The Titan took a moment, her own eyes watering up. "You were my ray of sunshine in the Darkness, Syd. My only regret is that we will never be able to truly live together without the threat of the Darkness, without the threat one of us might not make it." At this point, Rhmira was also crying. "Always be yourself, never lose sight of what you want out of life, but...never forget me. I will never forget you. Goodbye...my phoenix." The warlock, Sydri, began to hysterically cry as the video disappeared, the faint light of the Ghost eventually falling dead. She probably heard two voices in her crying fit but wasn't sure, or paying attention for that matter. Her cheek was met with the soft chest of a hunter's armour, feeling the arms of the same hunter embrace her in a hug, the somber stance of a familiar exo in the corner of her vision when her eyes periodically opened. The warlock wanted to be alone before she saw the video, but through fits of crying, she was happy that they were there. She was happy that she wasn't alone.
