The Truth about Skolas Nerf with Calculation

It wasn't a nerf. Let's do some math. I posted this elsewhere but should help. They lowered Skolas Heath by 1/2 (actually 45%) and lowered your ability to damage Skolas by 2/3 then this is how it would play out. HERE IS AN EXAMPLE OF MATH AT WORK OLD -- Say originally you could do 300 damage per second, it would take 90 seconds to take skolas down based on 27000 health. NEW-- Now say you can only do 100 damage per second, it would take 150 seconds to take down Skolas based on 15000 health. RESULT- Skolas is actually 67% harder to take down. Does this make sense to everyone? This was not a nerf it was a buff with compromises to force players to go through the mechanics of the fight. Want to put this out there for everyone to see and realize. Edit: overall I am happy that I am not receiving a ton of hate for this post. There are some people that don't know how math works but that's okay. I want to make clear that overall I believe the encounter will be more manageable, but some people say easier. I think it could be easier if your team can communicate and work together. If your team only knows how to rely on ghorn and a bubble it probably will be more of a challenge. Also adjusted 167% to 67% to match with my semantics.

  • The thing is though, he and his adds will do less damage to you based on the removal of burns. This has the desired effect of making the fight more predictable and generally keeping encounter times at a manageable duration.
