Xur should exchange E shards for E light
Buddies and I have done 33 Nightfalls (edit: 39 now) and only seen a single E Light drop, just exotics we already have because we're all day 1s.
Please consider having Xur exchange E shards for E Light, maybe at around 5:1?
Edit: nobody wants to break the economy or devalue E light - a cap would (obviously?) need to apply as well: e.g. 1 per week, or make them cost 200 marks, which equates to a pre-existing weekly cap.

To0 has way too many cheaters and thorn spammers. Making it unenjoyable. Exotic shards are not that easy to come by, I have over 100 of each energy and shard. I have 19 exotic shards. If they use a ratio of 3:1 or 5:1 no casual player will get close to as much etheric light as the hard core players running up to 9 PoE events a week. Making etheric light easier to get using only one exchange system isn't going to break anything.
