I have 3 characters to level 34 and have maxed my vault space dozens of times, but I often find myself clearing them because, well...I don't use all of them all the time. As you delve further into the game, you'll come to realize that a lot of the weapons you find are crap and you really only end up using a small amount of them. Besides, if you're really bitching about vault space, remember that all of your characters have 9 slots plus the weapon equipped for each type of weapon (primary, special, and heavy). That means that in total, the 36 weapon slots in the Vault plus 27 slots per character should cover everything you need.

  • I actually use all the weapons I max out space with in my vault plus weapons I have to store on other characters, I like using different things and Bungie makes this very difficult for me!

  • Really? In all the time playing, I've come to the point where I choose specific weapons for specific tasks. No way in hell I could say I use 126 guns. In fact, I tend to use the same 9-10 weapons for just about everything. I keep all exotics because they're supposed to be difficult to come by, elemental primary weapons because they're a hundred times better than non-elemental ones, plus picking and choosing various special and heavy weapons to fit the needs of the mission. I won't name any Exotics, but here's my typical buildouts: Hand Cannons - Word of Crota (void burn/small arms and Hive elites) - Fatebringer (arc burn/small arms, clearing a group of ads, HoW, VoG, and most of the enemies found in game, as Arc shields are commonplace) Assault Rifles - Abyss Defiant (Hive, solar burn/small arms) Pulse Rifles - Oversoul Edict (arc burn/small arms or Hive elites) Scout Rifles - Fang of Ir Yût (arc burn/small arms, or Hive elites) - Vision of Confluence (solar burn/small arms, Hive, or VoG) Sniper Rifles - Praedyth's Revenge (void burn/specialist, PvP or VoG) - Black Hammer (solar burn/specialist, Hive, and Crota) - LDR (arc burn/specialist, HoW, or any enemy with arc shields) Rocket Launchers - Hunger of Crota (no explanation needed...this rocket launcher is easily the second best in game) - One Way Ticket 000 (I have a tracking void one and it's a beast) That's 11 guns mentioned that can take care of pretty much anything in the game you run into. That being said...why would someone need 126 different weapons when clearly the 11 mentioned can get you through pretty much anything?

  • I like to take advantage of what the game gives me, even if it only takes a few to complete all tasks in the game. That would get very boring for me and that's why I am really annoyed about this limited vault space they force onto us.

  • And when then ingram goes to post master what then? Open one slot up by using vault then hand things in one at a time.. no thanks. i play for fun when life allows it.. why am i working more to compensate for crappy programming and ideas.. oh thats right.. bungie is making more dlc's with more exotics to lose more space and so i can run backwards through a map.. awesome..

  • So how many hours have you put into the game? You mean to tell me that every gun you've picked up is worth keeping? You mean to tell me TFWPKY is better than Fatebringer or Word of Crota? Or One/One Synesthete trumps Vision of Confluence or Fang of Ir Yût? As you progress in the game, you'll see that some guns are worth holding onto more than others. Exotics, elemental primaries, and very few non-elementals hold their own and the rest are really just weapon parts.

  • I dismantled all those guns.. kept the ones you basically said cause well burns.. im just saying loading up characters to make more room in vault isnt the greatest solution.. bungie could make a small change and everyone wins

I don't need to load characters up to make room in the vault or shift things around because I know for a fact I won't use all of them. I'm just saying, as fact, that people are complaining about 36 slots in the vault when in actuality, there's 126 total open slots for your weapons. As for the inconveniece of moving stuff between characters, Chrome (the Web browser) has an extension called "Destiny Item Manager" and it does just that. You can see the inventories of all 3 characters plus the vault in one screen and drag/drop from character to character or to vault to move items in seconds. Another solution would have been to use the Destiny app to move items to/from characters, but it's slightly more time consuming. I know, for certain, I only use a handful of guns. Via the Destiny Item Manager Chrome extension, I'm able to create loadouts of specific items I want to keep for certain situations (raids, PvP, etc.) With one click, I pull a drop down menu and select the loadout I want to use and the item manager moves the specified items to the character I choose. Even if the weapons are in the vault or dispersed amongst my 3 characters, the item manager moves everything exactly to where I intend it to go. But yeah....Wtf am I doing talking on the forums? I'm gonna get an hour or so in. Lots of stuff I still need to max out. :)

  • Good luck! I appreciate your comments and ideas on guns.. My last retort: if the game system setup was good enough, you and i would never have chatted. :)

  • Haha true that. I'm definitely not saying this game is perfect, but it's managed to keep me entertained through 720+ hours of gameplay, as repetitive as the tasks are. A lot of the things people have gripes about regarding this game are trivial though; some are definitely valid. I was merely explaining the other side of the whole "vault is too small" argument.

  • As am I. 27 unequipped weapons can be carried per character. That's 81 slots right there. Add to it the 9 that have been equipped by your characters, and that makes 90 weapons total. Plus 36 slots in the vault, you can hold 126 different weapons.

  • Demand for vault space is very high....with the exception of 5 or ten people. It's a collections game if I can't collect....why keep playing?
