I'm just curious as to why I join a party chat with all men and then inspect their characters to find female characters. Can someone explain this to me?
Edit: I don't care nor does it bother me that men choose to play as female avatars, I was only curious as to why they choose to do so. Most of the answers so far have been interesting/enlightening.

I do both. If I can choose I'm of the mind set that if I'm gonna look at a characters back side for hours on end it might as well be a female figure. In some cases it may be because the female rendering of characters looks better or better designed. Sometimes it depends on what I want to name the character. In destiny's case I like the looks more and the face design of the females.

Edited by HumbledVermin: 6/21/2015 2:33:43 AMI like variety between my characters. If I'm going to have at least three characters I thought "why not have a female character". Also, I like to express my feminin side.

4 RepliesWhat kind of sicko spends their time in the tower looking at their characters ass? I don't know about you guys, but I go to the tower to get stuff done, rather than stare at the arrangement of a few pixels on my screen.

EpicNameBro brought this up in a video of one of his Demons souls playthroughs. Its one of 3 things generally, someone makes a character that: 1. Resembles them, and they play subconsciously believing the character is them. 2. May not resemble them, but is an ideal or perfect version of themselves in their eyes, and does the same as 1. 3. Is as far from resembling them as possible, and they break any possibility of connecting with them by playing a character in a world separate from them; instead of playing themselves as a character in the world. Its been a while since I heard his perspective on it, but its a rough summery. The subconscious is an interesting concept indeed.

I only did a female character for my warlock and here's why: I just finished the Mass Effect series when I made my warlock and the purple (void walker) space magic reminded me of the biotic powers and the awoken reminded me of the Asari, so I created one and I actually ended up really enjoying the warlock so now she's what I play on. Also I wanted the Justicar Robes from New Monarchy cause Asari Justicars but I was too late because I made the warlock after the HOW DLC when they changed New Monarchy's stock. Anyone know if you can still get Justicar gear through New Monarchy Faction packages? I've been trying with no luck.
