Spend $80 on the Collector’s Edition of The Taken King, and you get an exotic class item with a continuous XP boost. Spend $40 and you get bupkis. Has pay-to-win come to Destiny?

That awkward moment when a level 34 has a completely unleveled subclass that takes time to level
-
No It's more like pay to catch up
-
Wow just wow
-
Pay to win what exactly?
-
LOL PAY 2 WIN?!

3 RepliesEdited by a clumsy scrub: 6/19/2015 7:27:55 AMWhat if the xp boost just boosts level xp, and after level 20, just get you motes of light faster? Thats not worth a fuss.
-
You obviously have no idea what pay-to-win means if you think that.
-
Not at all.
-
Check out the kotaku article on their play through of TTK. Class items seem to now all have modifiers. No doubt there will be exp, rep, armor and stat mods to be had on all class items come September. So, no, it's not P2W
-
Biased question much?
-
2 RepliesIt's not pay to win because extra experience doesn't make you Max level Good at PvE Good at PvP Have good weapons The list continues...
-
Oh my god, this post made my brain hurt. Lol wow
-
1 ReplyI think there is a leak saying class items will give u abilities now. so u probably would not want to wear those unless u are trying to level up a new character. If they weren't exotic, nobody would use them because there will be better ones for the people who don't need to lvl up
-
Not at all, from what we've seen class items now have perks and it's possible that exp boost will be an available bonus or even one that's not that useful in comparison.
-
No, and if you say otherwise then you don't understand how pay to win works.
-
All you people are doing is just looking for something to bitch about whether it's true or not or what you guys just wanna complain.. I suggest getting help cause you have some mental problems. Probably from being babied your whole life
-
5 RepliesIt's not buying power. If anything it's paying to skip the grind. To most "year one" players that means very little. We already leveled up our old guns and armor and the new stuff starts at max light with little grinding anyway. This only helps people with their classes and getting to 20.
-
Yes because getting more xp is "winning"
-
Like you actually need an xp boost? You can get to 20 easy.
-
This is mainly for people who are going to start playing destiny at that point. Help them catch up. I think it's a great idea. Useless to me. But hey, gotta look out for the little guy
-
The xp boost is mainly for new players, if your already 34 now with maxed weapons you'll do just fine like we did before.
-
4 RepliesXp means absolutely nothing past 20
-
1 ReplyClass items will have boosters in TTK. I know there's an image somewhere with a legendary Titan sash with auto and sniper xp bonus.
-
Edited by wakdestoyer: 6/18/2015 10:15:09 PMLevel =/= skill There's 34's who don't know anything about VoG. I don't see how it'll be pay-to-win.
-
12 RepliesPast max level it wont matter, those who have payed the extra greens will have 0 advantage over those who didnt. So no, no pay-to-win
-
It also probably only goes towards experience not gun levels faction
