I make $50.00 an hour so working one hour to play 100+.. Seems fair lol

I make 15/hr so in only 3 hours I can have over 100+ hours of play time. I swear people on here talk as if they are homeless.

I am a musician. And a private teacher, music and surfing. I can make anywhere from $50.00 an hour to $200.00 an hour depending on the event/venue. Now you have to realize, it's very seasonal. In the summer and fall i will play anywhere from 7-10+ gigs a week. Some only pay $100.00 for two hours, on the other hand some 2 hr gigs pay $400.00-$500.00 bucks minimum, these are rare maybe a couple a month. In the winter and off season I only gig thurs, fri, sat, sun bar gigs. Not to many big paying private events in the winter, maybe a wedding or two. For 3 months I teach surfing full time, and receive $30.00 and hour plus tip. Like I just had to two lessons= $60.00, however, I got $60.00 bucks in tips. So $120.00 for the 2 hours. Pretty soon I will teach 7-8 lessons a day then go play music at night. This is my most busy season coming up, means I have lots of down time in be off season. I have a music performance degree, not education, so salary isn't really an option like a high school teacher or band director. Unless I get a gig with the boson pops or something. I play blues, jazz, rock, Reggae, whatever the gig the needs. Some days are good, some not so much.

I landscaped when I first had my daughter cause I needed the steady pay. Pay was great, I worked in multi million dollar estates and had some super rich clients.. Like mowing the ceo of bank of Americas house, or the people who own Johnson and Johnson lol. however, there comes a time when you have to go and do what you love, and if you can make a little Money doing it, that's great!

Not to sound rude but making $50 an hour seems a tad absurd. Why wouldn't you just be on a salary. By most standards, hourly paying jobs are jobs where you can easily change companies and to make $50 an would seem like an investment in one person they wouldn't want to lose so a salary would keep them around. He could be salary and it averages to 50.00 an hour, I make between 20-60 an hour usually 25-35 but I'm commission based. It breaks down to that hourly based on the hours I actually work

That's understandable man. I haven't even finished yet and just am looking at the moment. Trust me though, taking out loans and what not has made me question why I didn't do what you did. Things always work in favor of those who deserve it tho. The harder you work, the more luck you'll have is my motto. Hahaha.
