Is there any trick for getting a checkpoint in Halo 2?
I'm trying to play Halo 2 Vista on Legendary, and for the life of me I can't get past Cairo Station. Halo 1 (minus the Truth and Reconciliation...) and all of Halo 3 on Legendary, I can do.
But what keeps happening here, is I'll [i]finally[/i] make it through a very tough firefight. Scripted dialog will fire. Maybe 30 seconds will pass.
Then, I get to the next area, get killed in 2 seconds, and get thrown back before the previous battle!
So, there's probably nothing I can do, but is there any trick in Halo 2 to [i]force[/i] it to give you a freaking checkpoint?

Thank you. Yeah, I guess I just gotta keep trying. I'm stuck on the fights in the shuttle bays, where wave after wave of Covenant come off of the drop ships. After each battle, one of the other gun platforms explodes. That point in the level. Earlier I had finally beaten the second one, then Hood tells you to find the bomb on the station, only to be killed right after that, with no checkpoint in between. I ended up quitting, and starting the level over, to be sure to save more plasma pistols to bring to that second fight. The noob combo seems to be the only effective way, other than grenades, to take down an Elite on Legendary without getting killed in the process. But now I can't get a checkpoint after the fight in the first shuttle bay before I get killed again. Anyway, thank you. I'll just keep trying until I get it. [Edited on 12.28.2008 9:46 PM PST]

You could try backtracking to see if it will reload the previous checkpoint. I know that worked in the first Halo. Other than that you're just going to have to fight past whatever it is that's being so tough. We could probably help you if we knew exactly which part you were talking about.

no there is no a trick, it really isnt that hard. JUst play the area a few times and you will learn what to do.
