Are you enjoying the Gears of War: Ultimate Edition?
I'm greatly enjoying this considering Gears of War 1 hands down had the highest skill gap between all the games. 60 FPS so far has been a real game changer imo. Don't forget to play everyday because skins will carry over to the full game, play on the 20th to unlock Cole Train for the retail game.

Yes but hit detection is a bit shite. I also had a glitch were my Xbox made the maps look like I was playing on LSD and when I shot the hammer it crashed my game.

i like that coalition actually listened to fans and fixed the shotgun on the last day of the beta.. see they got the spread wrong and it was literally like a laser beam compared to the other GoWs. side by side screenshots on their forum showed it.. the last day, it has regular Gnasher spread from GoW1 and actives for more balance.

I really just want to play the campaign and horde mode, i never got into gears PvP, but i love the series for its campaign and it is amazing for co-op horde.

14 RepliesA leggy glitchy multiplayer beta of an originally laggy glitchy game? So far, aim has barely mattered. Connection to host=priority. Most matches felt like annoying sponge fests. Very few were actually fun matches where my shots registered properly. Losing because I got outgunned, outnumbered, or outmaneuvered? Bravo. Losing purely because of latency? Frustrating.

It looks amazing and Gears is my favorite series. It is so much fun and amazing to be playing Gears on my X1. That being said I am terrible at Gears MP. Horde mode was always my first love on Gears.

4 RepliesNot gonna lie, the Beta is hurting me right now. It's been too long since I've played quality multiplayer and it's showing. I'm getting a little frustrated with the hitboxes at CQ but I started to regain my old skills (shotgun ballet) by the end of my first play session. Some things that need addressing: - bouncing off of cover is not as fluid as Queers 3 - nerfed range in unaimed grenades (feels like it anyways) - I died a lot; like A LOT. - game feels too fluid in the aiming and moving but not enough in the movement alone. - no active reload makes the Lancer buck like crazy (I hope that's a modifier that can change day by day) - I wanna say that they nerfed the boomshot. Maybe I'm just bad with it but the most I could do was down someone even on what appeared to be a direct hit. - I want my Retro Lancer back :( Can't wait to play more!!!

11 RepliesMy problem is the lack of balancing. I can't tell you how many times I have been put on a team that consists of all level <6s only to be pitted against a team of all >12s even post 20s. Ridiculous. I know people aren't playing with a group so there is no reason they can't split people up to even out the skill gap on teams. This is really killing the game for me. I am a huge Gears fan and thought Gears 1 had by far the most gritty and gloomy theme to it which in my opinion is a Gears trademark. However, I never was a fan of multiplayer until Gears 3 just because it's a total Gnasher fest. It gets so annoying. At least Gears 3 had more variety with the weapons and consistency with the damage. Of course, I'm a Sir-Lancers-A-Lot with an Onyx Lancer in Gears 3 so naturally I hate shotguns. No skill. Real men use Lancers.

What's the graphical difference I knew it's drastic and The Coalition worked their -blam!-ing asses off on that remaster that's how you do a -blam!-ing remaster or remake not those half assed Square Enix ones like Tomb Raider and Sleeping Dogs.

3 RepliesHaven't gotten into it since it's a remaster version of Gears of War which I've played already. Not saying I won't like it. Just not interested in it. I wouldn't mind getting it if it was the whole trilogy. (Never played Judgement and don't really care about it) But since it's just the first game, Ima pass. I'm more interested in Gears of War 4. Didn't know that was going to happen. I thought they were done with the story after 3. Not sure how 4 will follow. Really interested, but not getting hyped up about it.

I'm really enjoying it. The memories of 2006 hit me instantly. Gears of War 1 was always my favorite out of all of them. Only complaint I have is with some of the weapon hit registration, like with the gnasher shots literally going through somebody. But I can't get too upset considering it's still a beta, and I'll just report my feedback.
