anyone else think odst is goofy for the name?
recon sounded way better. just say to yourselves like your asking your friend, "have you played halo 3:odst yet?" it sounds goofy to me. i know its just the name and the game will probably be really good but i just cant get over the name change. i laugh sometimes when i see it on a magazine cover, lol.

i understand the name change but i did prefer Recon, it just rolled off the tounge better, and Ive allready met a few parents asking me about the game (I'm a parent gamer) so the name is allready embedded in some of the buying public

Not at all, it basically an add on to halo 3. Halo 3 is great, but ODST is like the next part to it. To be honest, i really would like maybe next year or two another halo. .. . . . ??

Nothing goofy about acronyms in the real military why should the fake one be any different? It's more realistic and true to form than recon. Plus with recon it gave too many false pretenses. The children on this forum are like fat men and cake when it comes to recon. They overhype exagerrate and cry about the armor so why complicate things and name the game the same? That would be goofy And when you spell it out Orbital Drop Shock Trooper sounds a lot cooler than Recon. [Edited on 12.27.2008 10:06 AM PST]

Yes, It sounds stupid, Recon sounds better....five-year-olds are like "Well you dont have recon armor so it cant be called reconz!!!111!!!one!!1111!" But because they are so fixaited on the special aromor the forget the Recon is like scouting an area. Gathering intell. So Recon could make sence providing you do recon missions in the game. I think "Helljumpers" would have been better, but yah. ODST is better than that nonsense first name they gave it.

You play as an ODST, so it's called ODST. I fail to see what's goofy about it.
