$135 for loyal players who stuck it out through months of bullshit vs. Minimum $60 for newbies who get to reap the rewards of our struggles... Anniversary editions happen, I know. And yes, I've played WoW before and know how the old style of MMO works. So here's the thing, I'm not mad about newbies coming in for cheap. I'm not mad at all about that, what angers me is the fact that us LOYAL FANS get absolutely SCREWED by Bungie, Activision, whoever! Oh and do us LOYAL FANS get rewarded for a year of Destiny? Nope. The content on the collectors edition is not given as a reward to us loyal fans who now have to spend OVER HALF of the base games price for LESS than HALF of the content? Bungie. YOU -blam!-ED UP. I play this damn game everyday and this is how you treat me? Bullshit Bungie, absolute shit. If the expansion was $30, I wouldn't have been this mad. "Oh, but what's $10, don't be poor" -blam!- off. $10 is $10 no matter your state and if you don't realize that you're just another cash cow for this -blam!-ed up industry.
TLDR - BUNGIE LOWER THE STANDALONE EXPANSION PRICE NOW, IT IS UNACCEPTABLE!

2 RepliesIt makes perfect sense I'm afraid and complaining about it to me, makes people come across as a child. I've had this game and every expansion since day 1. We need a new influx of players to replace those who have left and to keep up with our ability to play. So due to this, I am very happy they have done this. If they hadn't we would struggle to every year have a new wave of players. I also have had the enjoyment of this game for a year by the time this happens. To me that was worth the money.

I won't mind if destiny is actually an MMO

-
Wtf! You guys are getting it cheap.. It's gonna cost $70 alone just for the taken king expansion in Australia!
-
I agree 100% with you and totally get why you're so angry, I am too, to top it off as an Xbox one player , I am getting less for that money than ps4 owners. It's completely unacceptable.

5 RepliesBe Honest: do you even have enough vault space for 3 more exotics, shaders, and a sparrow?
-
2 RepliesWhat the -blam!- is wrong with people? The hypothetical, future newbies get it all lumped together cheaper. Woop-dee--blam!-ing-doo!!! I've never purchased a game a whole year after its release (with expansions, DLC etc.) and paid the same as its original retail price. And nobody should. GOTY editions, Ultimate editions, Collections... It's savvy business practice. Sell an old product at a cheaper price bundled with more content to gain more sales. To people bitching about "But they get emotes and other (completely useless) shit!" - You know what else they'll have: 1. No -blam!-ing idea what they're doing. 2. No exotics or legendaries. 3. An uphill battle against this elitist, tiny-dick, toxic community, that unfortunately for the most part, will exclude them from participating in any endgame content. Grow the -blam!- up or -blam!- the hell off. I look forward to being able to help new people get into this game and showing them the ropes. Complete strangers and ppl I know in real life that might play the game for the first time in September.

2 RepliesDestiny The Taken King Digital Collectors Edition is 80 dollars that's with all DLC's. I don't know where ya are getting sixty from.
-
3 RepliesCompletely agree! Played since day one and have both expansions 1 and 2, all I want is the digital version of TTK which I'm happy to pay for at the current price but where's my 3 emotes, 3 shaders and 3 class items?! Why should I have to go and buy EVERYTHING again after being a loyal player since day one?! Screw you bungievision! Sort it out!
-
The price was dropped either because they've sold enough to pay for all the yachts bungle could ever want, or more likely to try and increase sales. If it was still in high demand the game would still be high prices. A better question is why the day one players and those that came before the noobs day by day don't have some kind of advantage. I was day one. I have the special box, the special ghost, the special ship is in my inventory. My character still maxes out at 34 just like the kids who get it today will. Why don't I get to advance based on my time in the game or the number of kills I've made or the missions I've done? The money thing is weak as hell, but the inherent ceiling on character progression is something that boggles my mind.

Day one, paid $60. Created a warlock and off I went. Really liked the game so preordered the pass, another $35. Let my oldest son play pvp as he loves it and I'm just average at it. He enjoys the game so I let him make a hunter while I make a titan. I see how much he enjoys the game so I picked him up a used copy for $40 and another $35 pass. We have, combined, over 1700 hours played so far. Looking at that, I feel we definitely got our money's worth. But I'm not sure I will fork out another $80 for 2xTTK. Idk... Have to wait and see

Edited by PragmaticWord57: 6/19/2015 3:19:07 AMIt should be free. Period! I paid only $40 for the base game and paid $35 for the expansion. But I have friends who spent the $135 plus and to give all content to this point for a cheap $60 is bullshit. Further made bullshit by saying if you have all content and were loyal to the game you have to shell out another $40!? SCREW YOU BUNGIE! For those who bought previous dlc and base game at full price content should be an automatic free patch. Not another blatant example of how they don't give a damn about loyal gamers. Sure give all 3 and base game for $60 to new gamers to attract others. But show respect and repay our loyalty, dedication thought the months of bugs, bs, and all the other crap you dumped on us by giving us the same damn thing you are giving new players for free! Even with a decrease in cost of base game and dlc packs over time being a justification for selling it for $60 there is ZERO reason to sell one dlc for $40 to everyone else. That means BUNGIE values their base game at $10 and each previous dlc at $5 a pop! $20 for all that and $40 for the new not even real legit content does not add up. At this point I will play the game still. Once new dlc drops I am out because I won't let a company like this disrespect me any longer. This game concept is a 10 year plan. This is a bump in content before Comet story arc not to mention all other potential "dlc" drops they will throw our way calling it legit "content" trying to get every last dime from gamers. This "F U to fans"is just game one. Imagine how the will screw you with Destiny 2! So smart money is to enjoy it while you can, get out, enjoy other games then return when BUNGIE offers the core game and like 5 dlc a for $60 instead of paying $40 a pop and dumping hundreds into a single game as BUNGIE obviously plans to do. This whole thing is a gamer money grab and it won't stop at this latest dlc. It was $35 for 2 dlcs. There is zero justification for $40 for one. I am sure this trend will never end with this now shit company. BUNGIE lost all respect from me for the way they treat their loyal gamers. So $40 may not seem like much but if you take a sec and do the math and look at the big picture you will see a single game will cost in the end as much if not more than an Xbox One upon its first release. Better to explore other games and then return once BUNGIE gets done fleecing the willing masses. New gamers already get that joy for now for a measly $60 verses those who put in months just to get told we mean shit to them.

Quit playing. Only market factors will get their attention. They don't read the forums, that's why they hired Deej, to make u think they do.
-
I would buy it for $20 with guaranteed major increase in vault space. Nothing else would sway me now. $80 difference are you kidding me.

1 ReplyGames depreciate You're an entitled child Pay and play or go Stop the incessant whining
-
Okay, there's a lot of decisions that don't make any sense, but this wasn't one of them. Go to any game store, and you can but Destiny for $30, new. With the DLC, you'll be paying $50-$60 tops. That's not in September, that's now. Games value depreciate with time. Most games drop $20-$30 just a few months after release. That's the reason you can buy now Battlefield 4 for $40-$50 including DLC, while people who bought it day one paid $100 for the same content.
-
1 Replyso in order to get the collectors edition sparrow shader etc and the VIP emblem etc we have to buy two separate editions ? Should t the VIP rewards be giving out to the day one players for free?! That would be the most logic reason to show their appreciation !
-
2 Replieswell said As a Ghost owner (£200 and 800+ hours) I am saddened to have to say I will not be purchasing the Taken King unless certain things are added and this is the list 1. All that is on the wish list implemented into the game 2. The Taken King at £20 for year 1 owners 3. Matchmaking and Private lobbies for all end game activities 4. Trading or A merchant who sells pre DLC gear on rotation 5. in game social chat in Social spaces 6. expansions to the already small location on earth (no recycling) 7. Ghost skins, Custom shaders, Sparrow skins, Ship skins, Exotic weapons and armour effected by shaders 8. MASSIVE vault, glimmer and mark increase to limits

Edited by ChillGem: 6/16/2015 8:49:00 PMThe Definitive Edition of video games have always been cheaper than the base game with all the DLC. From Tomb Raider to Last of Us to phucking Borderlands 2. How come everyone loved it when BL2 definitive edition came with EVERY single DLC AND borderlands pre sequel all for a price cheaper than a full game. But everyone loses their shit when Destiny does it You all should be glad that more players are coming to Destiny. That means it will be easier to find raid groups or fresh new Trials team mates. Let them have their shader. Who really gives a damn about a new emote. And REAL Veterans don't need any xp boost.

Dude, That's the way the world works. It's called marketing. Businesses always screw over their initial customers, just like some employers do their employees. You, as the consumer, have every right to choose whether to buy their product, or not. This is the capitalist world we live in. They know that some people are not going to buy their product because of the initial impression, and they know that there are people that will buy this just because it says destiny on the dang cover.
-
Can you name one game that wasn't cheaper a year after it was released?
-
What are you talking about? 135 WHEN IT WAS NEW ON LAUNCH DAY ALMOST A YEAR AGO. You chose to buy it vanilla, snowflake, if you didn't want to pay full price then you could have waited until now and bought a used copy! Of course they're going to include all the old stuff with the new DLC! Duh!

1 ReplyWell they certainly can't up the price of the Legendary Edition. Destiny's not a new game. It probably sells for something like $20. I look at it Glass Half Full, newcomers get a lot of content at a bargain.
