Why is the Destiny community so obsessed with the word "pop"?
Seriously, every time I'm in a game...
"Hey man pop a shield"
"Yo, pop a bubble"
"Hold on I got to pop a synthesis"
"Hey pop your self ressurect"
Edit: Everyone is trying to make a point by making extremely long sentences without the word "pop". You guys are just adding stuff. You could simply say "Use a synth" or "Use your bubble". Plus, I'm fine with people saying "Pop", it was a question, not a complaint. And I love all these replies that manage to slip "pop" in there XD

It's a short, quick verb that's easily understandable. It probably caught on because of that. The structure of the word makes it very clear to the receiver, even through all the background noise and game chatter. For the same reason radio traffic uses things like "copy" "direct" and "Oscar Mike". Pop just has a lot of good uses.
