A noob is a beginner, hardly knows how to play. A scrub is essentially the same, however, it isn't limited to beginners. You could know the ends and outs of a game and still be a scrub as it denotes one who complains about anything and everything used to beat them. If it kicks their ass, it's unfair and cheap, but when they do it, it's fine.
