Episode 5: The Glass Throne
Dredgen stalked Gulrot, half hoping it would lead him to Urrox, the other half hoping it would notice and chase him back towards their trap.
The plan had been to split up the two targets and take them down one by one because their combined powers would be overwhelming to the strongest of Guardians. Dredgen would lure one of them in, and Toland would subdue them.
Dredgen realized that Gulrot was approaching the intersection that would lead the ogre into their trap, he had to act now or they would lose it.
He shot Thorn twice, taunting the Ogre, which was a little too effective in enraging him, as Dredgen barely had enough time to duck into the side passage as Gulrot barreled toward him, turning the walls to rubble in the process.
Dredgen ran into the intersection, the ogre a second behind. "NOW!" he yelled to Toland.
Gulrot paused directly in the middle of the intersection and was met with a Nova Bomb with the force of a train, caving in the intersection and burrying Gulrot in rubble.
"Is that it?" Toland asked, uncertain. A loud roar put an end to those suspicions as Gulrot snatched both Toland and Dredgen and threw them across the room.
When they tried to get to their feet, they were drenched in the horrible monsters bile. If that wasn't enough, Toland felt the floor begin to burn, unable to move his feet, he screamed from the pain. Gulrot and Urrox were using their powers in tandem, and they were near unstoppable.
The two Hive stopped their assault as Urrox started to chuckle, the sound of dulled spikes rattling around inside a hollowed out skull.
"Puny Guardians, I cannot understand why Moluk even bothered raising a massive army to deal with you. She was always insane."
"You're smaller than I expected Urrox, I can see why your brother was chosen as king!" the Hive Prince snarled.
"You better watch your tongue Warlock, my temper is short, and my rage is eternal..." Urrox ignited the ground again, and Dredgen began to stumble.
"Burn the world, burn it all!"

Three years ago.
Kabr followed Osiris through the Labyrinth, the warlock not stopping to so as much make a wrong turn. "Strange that someone who has never visited this place knows it like the back of his hand." Kabr remarked.
"Praedyth and I were able to scout this place out before we found you, but we only caught glimpses of those Gorgons." Osiris motioned to Kabr to stay back.
Kabr whistled, the labyrinth had opened up into the largest cavern he had ever seen. "Where is Praedyth?" he asked.
Osiris pointed, and Kabr saw the Bladedancer flying across the Abyss, the power of his arc blade propelling him further. "He got impatient."
Osiris smirked and leaned back, dropping over the edge and blinking away. "I hate it when he does that." he muttered, leaping from platform to platform.
When he finally managed to reach the bottom, Praedyth laughed at Kabr. "Little boring isn't it? Jumping from platform to platform?"
"Maybe boring, but not as excessive as what you did." Kabr snorted.
"Quit your whining!" they jumped, startled by Osiris' sudden outburst. Kabr saw the obsession in his eyes. Osiris was so close, to him the Vault of Glass was his life's work.
"Are you ok?" Kabr exchanged glances with Praedyth.
"No, i'm not." Osiris snapped. "I'm mentally unstable, too obsessed with this place, i'm being overcome with greed and I don't know what will happen when it's all over."
Kabr and Praedyth stared in shock. "What? Can't a man self diagnose himself as insane?" he laughed, walking away.
They followed him to the end of the stone hallway, to a door with a symbol on it. Osiris placed on the symbol, which began to glow, and the door slid away.
The three stepped into a massive chamber of crystal, they were in the Vault.
In the center of the room stood a giant vex Gate Lord, with a chassis made of the same crystal as the Vault itself. Atheon.
"Welcome to my world, Guardians. This is where the Vex create reality."
"This isn't reality machine, this is madness!" Osiris shouted, too overjoyed about the Vault to be serious. "A beautiful madness!" but he summoned his staff and prepared for battle.
"I have fought Gate Lords before!" Praedyth snarled, unleashing his Arc Blade. "And you shall fall like they did." he charged straight at Atheon.
Kabr watched, confused. For a second it seemed like Praedyth was taking his time, but in reality, it was if time had slowed. "I can make a minute feel like an hour, or I can make an hour feel like a minute."
Time returned to normal and Praedyth continued to rush straight at Atheon.
Atheon slammed the ground, sending Praedyth flying backwards, straight into a vex portal. The cold, calculating machine stared at Kabr. "I am no Gate Lord."
Kabr gripped his shield and ran straight at Atheon, Osiris at his side. They were both furious and ready to send Atheon to the scrap pile.
"I am Times Conflux"
