Basically, what you're doing is doubling up on a perk. That by itself is a broken game mechanic, not an exploit. If you want to use that then go ahead. Bungie can't do anything about that since they allowed that perked to be doubled up. The actual glitch comes in play when the hunter uses the scatter grenade. The way ashes to assets works, it is suppose to proc when killing an enemy, but that's not what happens. Due to some kind of error in the way it was coded, the scatter grenade breaks this perk and causes it to prove on ANY damage the grenade deals. That is a broken mechanic. It does not work as intended. If you use this in order to gain an advantage over an enemy in PvP, it is an exploit, just like backing out of a game in Trials because you don't want to fight the enemy is an exploit. You're abusing a broken mechanic to be at an advantage. That is exploitation, and that is a bannable offense.

We already knew this...

2 RepliesUsing a grenade is a ban offense guys. Oh save us all.
-
1 ReplySo cheesing the bridge in crota is a bannable offense? I guess all destiny players must get banned.
-
3 RepliesOh you people and your "if you take advantage of a mechanic than you're a cheater" nonsense. Just play the game and stop ranting over every... little... thing. It's so tiring, I don't understand how you people can have the stamina for this. This is one of the many reasons I stay away from competitive multiplayers, people just take shit too serious. It's just a video game, why waste time doing anything but enjoying it.

2 RepliesAll the flavours in the world and you choose to be salty

So all hunters have to stop using this grenade indefinitely or they are cheating?
-
2 RepliesAmazing Bungie of all companies produced a game with such amazing gunplay but so many broken elements.

Swarm Grenades. Leave my Warlock Scatter Grenades out of this haha

16 RepliesEdited by njl4515: 6/12/2015 10:42:27 PMWhere does it say that using in-game mechanics, whether broken or not, is considered exploitation and is bannable? Can someone quote the ToS where it says that is the case? edit: Found the list of bannable offenses per Bungie's website:
Bungie regards the following behavior to be in breach of the license agreement that governs Destiny, and therefore potentially subject to access restrictions: Connecting to the Destiny game service with any of the following: Modified game software Modified game assets Modified console hardware Modified console firmware Using an external program to modify the operation of the Destiny game software (trainer or mod) Using an external program or device to automate gameplay or circumvent idle detection Modification or interruption of Destiny network traffic with intent to disrupt other players’ experiences or to gain advantage in the game Intentionally deriving gameplay benefit from another user’s behavior in the above categories Unauthorized access to Destiny software or downloadable content (game piracy) Impersonating a Bungie, Microsoft, Sony, or Activision employee
NO WHERE DOES IT SAY ABUSING A FLAW IN CODE VIA IN GAME MECHANICS WILL GET YOU BANNED! Stop fear mongering!

I don't even understand how to do this 'exploit' I miss U tons!
-
I don't think it should be a bannable offense. Cheap and scrubby? Yes.

Edited by lI-3Dot-Il: 6/13/2015 2:32:29 PMExactly. About 6 months ago, there was s Warlock infinite selfres glitch/exploit. I remember quite a few people getting temp bans over it as they used it in PvP. It has since been patch of course! This seems to be a similar glitch because you can use it on dead Guardians ghost/orbs. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if several bans came about for the abusers! I welcome it. Edit: time scale correction.

Such fail

This has been in the game for a very long time, as many people have probably said, furthermore, not many people are using it as people lead on, I did 30 Matches of trials and not one hunter used that set up, and it's not likely to be a ban offense, it's simply a fault in the coding which probably will now be fixed because of all the nonsense on the forums, ideally the only people that will be banned are those that will abuse the report system because they think it's unfair only because their class can't do it, but shame on those that do use that tactic to win in competitive environments, although the grenades themselves are pitiful and easy to dodge ^^

1 ReplyI swear this has been in the game since day one and even works in pve sort of. I love how no one realizes that the more posts about this, the more people are going to find out about it and try it. And how are people even getting hit by this crap nade in Trials
-
I have to thank people for posting this. I didn't know about it before and it really helps make orbs for your team in PVE. -blam!- pvp
-
1 ReplyNope, you are not modifying the game, or manipulating people's connection, or otherwise contravening the terms of service. If it is in the game, it is the responsibility of bungie to deal with the issue. To ban players for using this exploit would possibly be an illegal denial of service.
-
Backing out and using the scatter grenade are two different things. One is cheating, because you're starting games then dropping out by turning your system or Internet off so you don't play certain players... That is system manipulation. Using the grenades required the player to do nothing but play the game as is, and by that merit its not cheating. It's one thing if I did something to make the grenade work in a broken way, but I'm not I'm only playing, and by that measure you can not ban anyone for playing the game as is.

3 RepliesThus Bungie have to ban 80% of all Hunters, good luck with that.

-
2 RepliesCrota glitches, no one says shit, A PVP EXPLOIT HOLY SHIT WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING....WHAT AND BUNGIE ACTUALLY COMMENTED ON IT!!!!!!
-
1 ReplyIt's the hidden exotic perk on Young Ahamkara's Spine, clearly.
-
1 ReplyYour a Wizard Harry!!!
-
Also works on dead bodies.
-
I don't use it but how is it a ban-able offense. It's a coding error on Bungie's part.

Omg nooooooooooo
