Is Universal Remote Worth Getting?
Hey, all.
I've been going without shotguns in my inventory for a while, but after playing Iron Banner for the first time last week I've come to the conclusion that shotguns are necessary if I'm going to compete in the next IB.
Xur is currently selling Universal Remote, so I'm wondering if I should spend most of my coins on it, or should I save my coins and hope for RNG to give me a better shotgun?
The main problem I can see with Universal Remote is that it's taking up my primary slot. I would much prefer to use a scout rifle there with a close range special weapon. If Universal Remote is worth using I suppose I could equip a sniper rifle as my long range weapon.
Well, what do you guys think?

I've read your posts, weighed all of the advice, and I've decided to buy UR when I get home tonight. Plenty of you have commented on how much fun it is, so I figure that even if it doesn't work out for me in Crucible or IB (as some of you have suggested) I'll still have a fun weapon to play with in other game types.

Same loadout CE: after killing the deathsinger I equip it and found verdict to make quick work of Knights and acolytes. And farming

Any exotic is worth it if your goal is just to have fun

1 ReplyPretty much every high end weapon is worth getting. The question is whether or not it's worth keeping, and that's a question best answered by taking the thing out and playing with it yourself.

I decided against buying it, played a nightfall and then got UR from it. I instantly fell in love. I had top kills (and deaths because suicide berserker) in level 32 POE (but I switched to MIDA for Kaliks). So yes, it is worth it. Just do nightfall first. You might get lucky!

I got it in a drop and used it for about 20 mins and vaulted it. I found the limited ammo in the clip to be frustrating. Too frequent reloads. I'd avoid and see what next week brings.

Not worth the exotic slot but if you our a collector like me I have to have them all so do what you want

I got it, it was fun to use in Crucible. It's a novelty item really, but not a bad shotgun. It's more forgiving than Felwinter's Lie type shotguns, but not as good with skilled hands. It's the only thing I got this week, as I have Mk. 44 Stand Asides (got them two days ago) and have both Chest pieces.

pretty pointless as a primary weapon really - i like shotguns but they belong in the special weapon slot

Got it today and love it! The fact that it's in the primary slot means it auto is easier to come by, which is helpful. Pairs great with a sidearm

If you wish to collect all exotics, then buy it. If not then don't.

1 ReplyIt was my first exotic, and even after the fusion rifle Nerf, this strategy for PvP works well, unierversal remotes range is fantastic when you get its upgrades, so work with that, and use an accurate fusion rifle, I used the solar murmur, and it was amazing, I'd get it, I mean, why not?

2 RepliesIt's a fun gun to use. In a video game that should be all that matters. Will I use it in high end PVP/PVE? No But in patrol or normal crucible? Yes. The true question is whether you enjoy using it. So give it a try.
