Just give it a look, it's probably one of the most peaceful and forgiving religions that protect others faiths and freedom to practice their own religion

1 ReplyI have around 20 friends (including their family members) who are Sikh. That's around five families in my neighborhood. They're really nice, but it's sad how many people I have seen be extremely rude and condescending to them because of their religious beliefs (not cutting hair and wearing turbans)

1 ReplyWe have a small community of them in my area. I really like them as a group of people. I don't know anything about their religion, and don't need to. They are always super-nice to everyone and are very effective charity organizers. They have done a ton for the wounded vets in our area. Good people in my experience.

4 RepliesEdited by eelmonkey69: 6/15/2015 5:02:00 AMThese guys have handlebar mustaches and beards. I have a handlebar mustache and beard also. When I see them, I smile at them and tell them they are looking good, they do the same. People with huge ridiculous mustaches are all about a good time.
except for the ones that tie damsels to railroad tracks, those guys suck.
1 ReplySounds pretty cool. I have a Sikh friend who has never once raised his voice at someone. Good guy I'm Muslim.

4 RepliesHow many of them are terrorists?

22 RepliesPretty sure they're the ones who managed to get an exception to carry knives (or, as they call them a "kirpan", IIRC) in schools.

26 RepliesI've met quite a few and worked with some as well. The individuals that I've met have all been similarly chill, kind and considerate and I've spoken with a few about their faith and culture (it's also sort of an ethnicity too, all 3 intertwined). More than anything, I was impressed by the fact that they aren't mandated to spread their beliefs, to convert others, or have a view that "other faiths are wrong and so we must either convert non-believers, avoid them, punish them, or judge them as inferior". That lack of an outlook of "my faith makes me superior to others" is rare and refreshing. I also found their tenets of faith, mythos, and worldview to be very interesting and the personal devotion of the people I spoke with to be very profound.

they're usually pretty bro people. one fo their core tenets is that they believe in selfless defense of others. another is always being pacifist unless the situation cannot be avoided.
-
Yes, they're actually interesting to learn about
-
They are a cool bunch.

Most peaceful religion carries knives. Ok then.
seriously though I know they're ceremonial
1 ReplyI really respect this religion. I'm Christian and I have to say I'm impressed.

If I had to be religious, I'd probably choose to be a Sikh. Or maybe Buddhist.
