Is the messenger better than fate bringer?
My friend just got the messenger from trials of Osiris and he said it's amazing he said it has really good accuracy and it can 2 shot someone in the head I've also seen someone use it in the night fall and 2 shot majors like dregs and vandals
I personally have never used either so tell me what you think down bellow ^_^

3 RepliesApples and Oranges. FB is a PVE gun, Messanger is a PVP gun. Messanger sucks for PVE, dominates in PVP. FB inversely sucks for PVP, and dominates in PVE. Messanger ends up being quite a bit worse than VoC in any PVE content you'll be doing. They both fill the niche of long range, heavy hitting solar Weaps and VoC does it much better.

1 ReplyWith a burn it headshots at about 1.7k damage w/o the last perk procing. Not sure if it 2 shots everything in pve but it does massive amounts of damage. In pvp it can kill in 2 bursts tho.

Fatebringer was never about damage. It loses to pretty much all exotic handcannons in damage as well as the high impact archetype legendaries. Its main draw is having Firefly on a weapon that is very easy to dispatch trash mobs with. Majors are what special weapons are for. So unless Messenger had Firefly(which would suck anyway since Firefly's damage is based off the damage of the killing bullet), it won't be able to beat Fatebringer in pve.

3 RepliesEdited by Doobedeedoo: 6/11/2015 11:53:14 AMFor this particular nightfall, it was better than the fatebringer if it had the correct burn. For general PvE Fatebringer is better. I tried the scholar with arc and it was stunning the Archon priest with every shot. That was pretty insane.

I've got the Messenger with Void burn and have been using it a lot in PvP. I really like it there and it does kill with two headshots. I tried using it in Prison of Elders though (Void burn) and the rate of fire was just too slow to make it viable against anything but weaker enemies. For me The Messenger is a PvP weapon while Fatebringer is a PvE weapon.

If ur talking PvE it is a viable weapon if ur accurate it does close to fatebringers damage but the firefly on fatebringer makes it a better option for crowd control such as PvE content. If u were talking PvP well fatebringer is a hand cannon i rarely ever see while The Messenger is just awesome in PvP i really enjoy mine.
