Skolas, Pain in the Fking Ass
Mmmkay, so... Just spent 3-4 hours I think on this son of a bitch. Still didn't kill him. What are we doing wrong?
Everybody is 34 with maxed Gjallarhorn
We all run left. Titan pops a Weapons bubble. We all spread out (within a reasonable distance). We then nuke him with our Gjallarhorns and break the servitor chains.
Then shit hits the fan.
Mobs come out, damn 2-shot captains disrupt the whole fking process. So we all move to the opposite side. HE SITS RIGHT WHERE WE LEFT HIM, so no one can hit him, and even more two shot captains show up to screw with us. No way in hell can we get to the mines, because by this point, (assuming we ALL haven't been wiped by the goddamn 2-shot captains), SOMEBODY gets killed by (you guessed it) a goddamn 2-shot captain.
If not, usually all hell has broken loose by this point and there is no recovery from it.
Any suggestions?
P.S.- this whole artificial difficulty of lets-just-spam-them-with-ads-and-objectives-and-boss-bullets-and-debuffs-and-all-sorts-of-other-fun-shit-oh-and-did-you-see-that-captain-that-just-magically-appeared-behind-you is really getting old.
EDIT: forgot to mention, we did go in with full Gjallys and synths on reserve. SUB EDIT: Our Titan also had a helm of S14 but we just went full retard with the placement of the bubble. Yes, we scrubbed this fight THAT hard, lol...
EDIT2: Wow, I posted this last night and woke up for work this morning with a plethora of really good strategies and a lot of well deserved "git gud scrub" posts. [b]Thank you all for the help[/b], I will try these tonight when I get home, and I'll update you all on whether or not we actually kill him.
Oh, on a side note. The reason we didn't use Black Hammer at all during any of our runs last night is because my buddy, who has two Skolas kills, swore up and down that Black Hammer did not stagger him.
I work with him. I may have to kick his ass this morning...
FINAL EDIT. THE GOOD NEWS: Toasted his ass... Got a solar Six Dreg Pride II AND an elder cipher! Woohoo!!!

I honestly think it's the skill of the players. With a little luck. I did it the first time. We all had max gallys but no Titan. We killed him easy. Mind you we were all good. I respected the way they played. Similar situation. All maxed gallys and 34. This time we have a Titan bubble also but can't kill him. This team isn't as good. I asked to join because he follows me on xbox. I don't add scrubs back. They were also trying to cut corners while doing skolas. " I have 3 rockets but I have my black hammer we should be fine" NO you can't do that. You have to unload all 14 or atleast 2 people while the other unloads atleast 9 to get the objective.

I still haven't defeated him- last night gave it a try and for about 2-3 hours we'll have all heavies ready and snipes ready as well as a helm saint 14 and a weapons and a blessing bubble with revivable warlock. However we couldn't get him to stagger him with my solar sniper I have that's supposed to do just that. We usually get to like 1/4 or 1/3 of his health and it's really easy runnin around cappin the areas but the burn from skolas and the captains with their guns as well as the vandals who snipe are all basically 1 shot kills and you're down so there's soooo much room for error. And error was abundant unfortunately.

My team beat him last night. Like you we went left at first like all the youtube videos show. We had a Titan with BLESSINGS OF LIGHT (weapons does NOTHING for Gally) and 3X G-horn. After 3 tries, someone suggested we go right and get on that platform and try from there. This worked way better. The platform gives you better protection from the ads, Skolas can't get to you, and because you are elevated, you have a height advandage. Also, this gives you a little more time to kill him because when the mines spawn, more than likely it will be one on that side first.

Have 2 stepping out of the bubble on both sides. 1 jumping in middle. Keep consistant dmg to keep him from teleporting. Try not to have everyone use synth at the same time either.

4 RepliesMy team popped went left and popped weapons of light. We then stun locked him with black hammer and after the servitor bond was broken we pelted him with ghallahorn. You do not even need to use a synth. If you do this without missing those black hammer shots you will not have to worry about ads.

If the Titan has helm he should be running the saint 14 to blind the adds as they come out of the door. Make sure he is also using bastion instead of gift of the void ( you would be surprised how many people forget to make that change as well and it gives you 15 extra secs of protection against skolas). Also makes sure the titan doesn't drop his bubble until after the servitor is killed and is partially covering the door it comes out of. As for the black hammer strat, BH will stagger him but in my experience it's hit and miss so if you have 3 365 ghorns it is safer to do that.

Didn't read it all or the comments afterwards but 2 things I think you're missing by the first 2 paragraphs... Helm of the saint and firing faster. That's really it. Helm of the saint blinds anything coming your way before you have time to kill skolas... Not a must have but makes it go much smoother. That and fire rockets fast and pop synth in the bubble... That's it

Skolas is stupidly easy... Even with 3 33's solar burn isn't a problem.

if you suck as bad as you sound just play with 1 titan with blessing of light and 2 warlocks.

We had one guy stun locking with a max Ice Breaker, and two pummeling him with max Gjallarhorns, all under the effect of Weapons of Light. He was dead just as the mines started. All we had to do was dismantle two sets of mines. It was awesome.

Pop a bubble with BLESSING, not weapons of light. All have 7 rockets and unload, soon as unload, pop a synth and he should be gone with 2-3 rockets to spare. Make sure everybody starts with 7 rockets. All stick together in bubble but make sure you are separate. Just walk or jump straight up from bubble and fire, reload inside bubble. p.s. Have helm-14 on with blindness if possible.

1 ReplyMy team last night went Gally strat. We went left (No bubble), and just started shooting. Servitor bonds broken, got him down to about 50%, and ads came out. We panicked and ran to left, since one of us died. We dismantled the mines (not hard), and got back to right in time to rez and give him the infection. We just burned him the rest of the way and dismantled the mines, easy peasy. Just saying that you should be ready to improvise, don't just wipe if something goes wrong. PS: I got a double cipher drop.

I always use black hammer to get him to about half and then unload with gallys, it's also a lot easier if your Titan has helm of saint 14

1 ReplyI always tell the ppl I'm playing with to not let up when the mines pop. You're going to have about 15-20 seconds to kill him after variks makes the announcement that mines must be dismantled. Usually, people freak out and run to mine points before Skolas is dead. Don't do this. Keep hitting him with gally and he will die as the first mine appears.

To stagger him its better if 2 shoot him with black hammer. Or put a bubble with blessing if u all shot with gjallahorn. Weapon of light with gjallahorn doesnt give u extra damage.

Use blessing of light for extra armor. Saint 14 to blind enemy's to give you time to kill skolas. Easy bro

in order to stagger an enemy with BH you have to get headshots. tell your friend to git gud with that hammer, lol.

5 RepliesDon't ever shoot at a mob just burn him. Shoot rockets till gone then pop a synth and shoot rockets again and he is dead. Be sure to have 7 ghorn rockets with a syth ready before you start. Hide in bubble to pop syth.
