Hackers? Lagswitchers? What the hell are you talking about?
I see atleast 10+ posts about people complaining about cheaters in ToO and the Crucible every day.
I don't get it.. I have [b]never[/b] seen a cheater/lagswitcher. I have 1700 games of crucible played (according to destiny tracker), almost 28000 kills in the crucible, and a medal score of ~1.2 million..
If there were so many cheaters everywhere I'm pretty sure i would have faced them at some point.. Especially in Osiris. I've played very much Osiris these last 3 weeks, and have gone flawless 7 times. Sure i've lost games too, but never against any kind of cheaters...
I actually start to think that people is making shit up, just because they want a reason to why they are losing..
And I'm on PS4 btw. Used to be on PS3 too, so i have played both of those consoles a lot, and found 0 cheaters.
Or is it easier to hack/lagswitch on Xbox? Is cheaters more common there? Or have i just been really -blam!-ing lucky to never have faced them?
[b]Edit:[/b] A lot of people got this wrong.. I didn't mean that hackers doesn't exist in destiny. Yes i know that hackers/lagswitchers exist. But no way that they are as common as everybody says they are..

Its easier to accuse someone of cheating than to admit you just got taken to the cleaner. Now it does exist but a lot of scrubs just come on here and bitch about their shots not counting when they were simply missing their targets.

I agree with you that NOT every who lags is cheating. In fact, I think a very small percentage of laggers are intentionally doing it. The paranoia on this topic is rampant. The simple truth, most likely, is that people have ISP or local issues occasionally with their connection! I mean, Destiny requires LIGHTENING fast internet for it to work. Speeds that can often be produced, but can very easily slow down by uncontrollable interruptions. Everyone needs to quit assuming someone is cheating. Furthermore, they need to not take this game so seriously. Its a VIDEO GAME!

Edited by albinomachina: 6/9/2015 4:57:06 PMI've been playing online FPS's since Halo 3, and in the 8 years I've been gaming online (10,000's of games played) there has been one time that I knew I played against someone who was cheating. I don't think its nearly as common as people think it is. From my experience, its just usually one person is better than another, and that makes them a "cheater." edit - also, as crappy as Destiny's netcode is, I don't see how you can tell if someone is cheating or just got lucky with Destiny's laggy ass gameplay. It continually amazes me how many "experts" there are here that can tell if someone is using a lagswitch or not just by looking at a video on youtube.

There are no cheaters, only people looking for a reason for why they're bad. Also laggy games, which are super common, automatically means "hackers" and "lagswitchers". I've never seen a cheater either, I think my medal score is even higher than yours

1 ReplyWas in a trial where the whole team just skated around on one knee killing everyone with shotguns. Was hilarious but upsetting. BTW there are tutorials on YouTube on how to lagswitch your gaming rig.

Not a lot of them, but you'll know when you see it. They lag like crazy, have never-ending supers and dance half the match.

16 million players and only 10+ posts about hackers...from this info., can you not surmise that it is not a common occurrence? If you have trouble believing, I'm sure there are plenty of Youtube videos that would change your mind. I've posted one to save you the trouble. It's just lag right?

2 RepliesHave you never meleed someone 4 times with them losing no health and suddenly shot gunning you? Have you never been unable to pick up your heavy (literally try over and over with no luck) to suddenly be blasted by a Nova bomb with the guy that did it now across the map for some reason, per your killer highlight screen? Have you never seen someone just teleport their location across the map? Because honestly if you haven't you are either extremely fortunate, or plain oblivious. It doesn't happen all the time, but it's painstakingly obvious when it does.

1 ReplyI've seen regular lag often. A few switchers. The most notable thing to know who is a switcher is when their bar changes from green to red several times though the match. And the moments when you're playing normally and your team is wrecking the other team at the very beginning, until everything freezes and everyone is kicked out of the game. But aside from those moments, it's regular lag

2 RepliesYou're on PS4. People cheat to have impressive stats/guns on a system that matters. (online-wise) Not saying playstation doesn't, but there will never be as competitive of an edge on PSN. Trying to say you're the greatest on PSN is like winning your third grade spelling bee and bragging about it as you enter the national spelling bee. Yea, you may have won sometime, but you're in a whole different ballpark now.

My experience with destiny is this. All my friends and myself included have SEVERE connection issues which makes trials difficult. Last night every game I had constant "contacting destiny servers" and it cost us a few games and hit helped us for one game. So I can see why people can call it lag switch but sometimes is just bad connection. It's a tricky situation

2 RepliesNo its not that when I played cod on xbox the people I played with always thought the other team was cheating. It's just an excuse people use to explain why they died. My xbox account has like a 68% negative rating and over 50% say I cheated. Never even tried to cheat before lol.

I've seen loads on ps4. You must have been lucky or I've been Unlucky, either way cheats are -blam!-s.
