I ran vestian destiny the whole time for two reasons. I never needed to scrounge for ammo, and I don't have one of the shotguns with super OP range (Felwinter's or matador). The sidearm gave me a little extra range to work with.

Edited by GRIEVER: 6/9/2015 1:18:17 PMI'm not a shotgun scrub but I had no choice considering everyone else running with them. Felwinters dropped for me in IB and rerold it to full auto. My preference is auto rifles and fusion rifles but since they nerfed the -blam!- out of them I've had to resort to handcannon and shotgun combo to stand a chance in pvp.
-
full auto seams like a horrible perk for felwinters. I had mine drop with it and I rerolled it to shot package. that gun is SO slow your dead before the second shot can go off anyways.
-
with shotguns you need a high rate of fire for full auto to work high stability too heh I got a good roll on rude awakening DOA with full auto and high stability, fast reload too I boom shaka laka with it a lot in pve '
-
It's saved me a couple of times but I guess it could be rolled better.
-
I'm not a fan of felwinters. at one point it would have been the goto shotgun but there are other options now. party crasher +1 would be my goto long range high impact shotgun. slightly less impact, not even noticeable when comparing them. mine has more range based off the perks I got, shot package army of one and reinforced barrel. it still fires slow for me but I'm able to shotgun melee and shotgun again right away. the increased rof is better for me. holding down the trigger to try and wait for the second full auto shot is time better spend throwing out a melee attack, atleast for warlock and hunters, not sure about titans. I do suck at PVP and useing shotguns is new to me. I hate that it is required for destiny pvp because thats how bungie designed the maps. shitgun fest over and over and over again. very few maps have decent sightlines.
-
I usually shotgun and melee straight away anyway so you're right. This iron banner is the first time I've used shotguns in pvp because I felt I had to in order to survive close quarters battles. I agree with you about the maps. And even then on the ones with some long range areas, most players stick to the close quarters areas anyway.
-
thats why I rerolled my low ROF full auto shotguns. if the second shot does not come as fast as a melee attack would its slowing me down and a wasted perk. yea I hate shot guns. hate pvp because all it is is getting killed by shotguns. people bitched about thorn, I died atleast 5 times more often to shotguns then I did to thorn. so I decided to go full on cheap destiny shitgun fighting last night to push to r5 on 1 char for extra light. blade dance with kneel invis fast twice hunger blades and the third man helm. was dual weilding shotguns, the universal remote (primary weapon ammo so no need to try worry about getting special ammo) and my party crasher +1 on small maps. universal remote and a sniper on larger ones. you stoop to the cheap no skill needed crap we have for PVP here and alla sudin even with out practice doing it I went from around an average KD of .7 or .8 at my best to 1.6 or 1.7. some match I did drop down below 1 but I was getting 2.0 or more almost as often. one thing I noticed about being a cheap shitgun user, you need to turn your look control up all the way. its the only way to get your gun to keep up with people at close range. makes it hard as hell to shoot anything at range though.
-
I think I have look control maxed anyway. Manged to get rank 5 yesterday after about 2 days of actually playing iron banner properly. I'm not great at pvp but it is pretty easy to rank up with the buff etc. I guess what you did is what everyone is doing. If you can't beat 'em join 'em.

yea... it was not fun and a hell of a grind but atleast it didnt piss me off so bad that I quit destiny for a while like i did earlier in the week. I actually bought the farming simulator 2015 earlier this week cause destiny pissed me off so bad I wanted nothing to do with a game with guns or other people.
-
Loooooool farming simulator

Edited by GraveBane: 6/9/2015 2:26:06 PMlol yea but it gives me something to do without thinking about how much I hate destiny. gives me abit of time to cool off lol. best part is it has multiplayer.
-
Lol any lag switcher? Maybe they are growing the produce faster somehow!
-
nope. but they do steal all the money you earned whenever you log out. I made like 200k on the one guys game and went back to mine to spend it and got a message from him thanking me for the cash.

Edited by erakis1: 6/9/2015 11:33:19 AMI was doing trials yesterday (went 9-2 unfortunately) and my teammate noticed I was using Mida and found verdict. Scouts have always been my favorite weapon type. He said "You're going to have to get used to using exotic hand cannons if you want to do well." I know he was right, and it speaks to the piss poor weapons balance in PvP right now.
-
The Mida was a great weapon for that map though.
-
I loved using mida on that map, but it wasn't as advantageous as it should have been because I was still getting tagged by thorn from clear across the map and having to take cover while the burn wore off. Scout rifles aren't as useful when some hand cannons have scout rifle range.
-
It's ridiculous. Before auto rifles were most common but handcannons were still just as competent. Even certain scout rifles were good for longer rang maps. Fusion rifles were effective and shotguns were used only at point blank. Now it's just Thorn and shotguns everywhere.
