Here's an idea... Don't have them nerf anything and just outgun/outplay them.
Chances are if they weren't owning you with thorn, they'd just own you with Hawkmoon or TLW. When faced with a bunch of hand cannon users I just head for the hallways and grab a shotgun. Problem solved.
