But it's just a theory A GAME THEORY
-
You're entire thing is negated by every instance of oryx having the referring article "him" Eris says it, grimoire says him/he etc. why ignore it?
-
I doubt he will resemble anything like the hive or even his own race. Considering the hive are the closest enemy in destiny to the darkness. He could be the darkness himself(Which I doubt). Or my view is the darkness is all the enemies that chase the traveler for their own reasons( reasons that could make them the darkness, or simply hold the name because darkness=absence of light. Therefore they chase the traveler to gain it.) but back to the point, oryx could be one of the major players in the group of people chasing the traveler(the darkness, In my view) or the biggest. It says the hive are the closest enemies to "the darkness" that you find. This is because they are beings with the most hatred towards light(that we have encountered). Other THEORIES could be that the taken themselves are the darkest beings, or the darkness themselves. Just a THEORY

Very nice post :)

Edited by HIGHSPEED87: 6/8/2015 7:31:16 PMAnd the house of kings doesnt play into this at all? I believe oryx is coming, but "the taken king"? The house of kings are fighting the hive on earth for a reason. I believe its because the hive actually captured the kell of kings. In all the grimoire cards he is mentioned in, they say no one knows where he is. Also, in one of the dlc missions, two kings barons and that wolf baron were talking, but the barons couldnt speak for the kell and were deciding on killing the wolf baron. Just a theory
-
"His father won't forgive us for this...Oryx will come for us."
-
Apparently we're fighting Oryx, king of the "Taken". New subclasses too! *feel the hype*
-
Its really Melisandre the red witch coming to sacrifice all guardians and dinklebots to the lord of light. Wait wrong story...
-
Good theory. I agree. Taken King will be us fighting Oryx or someone VERY close to him.
-
Man screw the hive. Where's the vex or cabal dlc?!
-
One of the greatest destiny theories i have ever read, cannot wait for this to drop and to see if its true

I like this. I want to add something else. Let me know what you think. Wizards (I call them Witches) are female. That is confirmed mainly because we have yet to find a male Witch. Knights I'm going to assume are males for the same reason. I'm also going to assume that we call Witches females because of the role they have in developing the Hive spawn. They nurture and feed these awful, hideous things and raise them into soldiers (Grimoire account of a Wizard tearing the Light from a Titan to feed the spawn). Knights on the other hand don't seem to have anything to do with the whole raising a soulless, never-been-alive army. They are one of the pinnacle forms of Hive. So what you're saying about Hive needing the blood of their champions to reproduce is cool and it makes sense. What if, instead of a hierarchy of Wizards or Knights being on top, we have two creatures with definite roles? The Knights are Kings and Princes and Warriors, but also the blood pool for Wizards to spawn new Hive. The greatest Knights would have the largest "families" and would be the most powerful members of this race. The Wizards would have power and authority, but would be more on the outside of things. I felt like that was the hardest section of your theory to accept, so I added my own. Good? Bad?
-
Ahhhh. Now it all makes sense to me. My one question though is this, when Oryx comes, who have we taken? Because in the Grimoire where Eris and Queen Mara Sov speak, Eris is already asking for help because she knows Oryx is coming. So what if we were wrong? What if Crota was really the king of the hive and his death was us taking him. He and Oryx together may have created the spawn of Crota.
-
Oryx is referred to as "him" in the grimoire. Nice theory though.
-
The queen said him. So she knows what he Is. Oryx has been called a king
-
The only thing I don't follow is your assertion that Oryx must be a wizard. It stands to reason he could have used a wizard to create his spawn, much like you suggest Crota and the Sword Princes did. In fact, if we're assuming the Hidden Swarm, Spawn of Crota, and Blood of Oryx all came about in that way, it makes sense that Oryx would be the Knight "father" since the only precedent we have for Hive naming conventions is that the Spawn of Crota were named after the "father."
-
For the record... If the hierarchy said that wizards trump Knights then Omnigul wouldn't have served Crota... Obviously it doesn't matter, at least for those of the Royal line. Therefor it's 100% possible that Oryx can be a Knight and there's nothing wrong with a Wizard leading anything.

I love your informative post's. They always seem to change the way i see things in destiny. I always assumed Oryx would be a knight (like father like son) but your idea makes a lot more sense. Please come back soon!!! Or we will be doomed to endles NERF this NERF that XURNED/EARNED AGGGHRRR LIGHTHOUSE posts
