don't forget that the master chief did that at age 14. he is currently in his 50s. he has had so much more combat experience than any guardian that it isn't even funny.

That doesn't make him invulnerable. While time does seem slow to him through the series, he still has been injured and many times at that. In a close up fight (hand to hand) do you really think he can out punch a fist of havoc? I love the whole halo series and was a huge fan (having read all the books through to the ghost of onyx), but I really think the supers give guardians the advantage in the fight. No supers and the guardians would be toasted in half a second flat.

the problem with relying on the supers, is that they have to charge. and in that time they are extremely vulnerable. the Spartan's superior combat experience would allow them to analyze the tactics used by any guardian, and outfight them within that time limit.
