Solution to PoE checkpoints (or lack thereof )
Bungie wanted to stop checkpoint sharing in PoE. I can agree with this philosophy. Players should have to complete all rounds of PoE to get to the loot room, and not just jump in at the end.
I think my idea allows checkpoints without allowing sharing. It would also solve the reported problem of people being kicked by fireteam leaders right before the last round just so they can invite friends who want to hop in without completing the whole PoE.
The solution?.....tickets
Like ToO players would need a ticket for PoE. The ticket would track your progress. Complete rounds 1-4 and you can re-enter at a later time and start at round 5, but ONLY IF the other members of your team have completed 1-4 also. Otherwise it would start you at the lowest completion level of any team member.
Example: Tuesday i complete PoE rounds 1-4. For whatever reason (disconnection, real life obligations, etc) I cant be there for round 5. Wednesday I can either connect with the same guys from the night before or anyone else who has complete 1-4 just like me. We enter PoE and can start at round 5.
Lets say my fireteam continued on without me. So now I have to find two others to play with. If I find a person or people who have only completed 1-3, I would have to repeat round 4 ( because thats the lowest completion of any member of the team) but at least I wouldn't have to start over again at the begining.
Let me know what you think, or if you see any loopholes im not thinking of.
If you agree lets get this trending so maybe Bungie realizes we NEED this.
Edit: thanks to all for the comments and feedback. Happened to me again last night, made at all the way to round 5 and got weaseled out to the main screen. 30 minutes waisted

We were on the fifth round... I was the firteam leader so when I went to leave I forgot to leave the fireteam first. ( I was in a major rush ) Needless to say I brought both of them back to orbit with me. Man I felt like an idiot. But it's not fair to them that because of my dumbass mistake they have to completely redo poe 34. Please bungie fix this. Just ain't right

I full agree with this. Last night we were playing and our fireteam leader (all randoms) kept dying and getting mad so what did he do? Back us all out to Orbit, then left fireteam and party.

Bump. I will not buy TTK unless Bungie does this. If they cannot show that they care enough about their game to implement something that most people agree is needed, then they do not deserve a penny more of my money. And I'll hang out in Game Stop every spare hour I have to make sure nobody gets ripped off buying your POS game.

Once I got all the way to skolas, the next thing I know, Im in orbit because the greedy person who had only been in since round four kicked me. I was in since round one. Worked 3 hrs to get to the final round. The third person left because he gave up the round before and then he kicked me.

2 RepliesJust got kicked after getting all the way to skolas. I think checkpoints should be added so that people don't end up wasting their time playing PoE only to be kicked during the final boss. In short people are jerks and to some extent checkpoints will at least make it easier for those who get kicked.

3 RepliesSeriously Bungie, listen to this person. You have really disenfranchised a lot of players with the "no checkpoint" policy (especially those of us with gainful employment and/or children). I don't think it's necessary to have them on any level but 35, however. Some of my friends and I just tried Skolas for the first time tonight and, as predicted, we had to give it up before we managed to beat the boss because we all have work and kids to worry about tomorrow. It really makes me not want to bother with it again,which sucks because I [i]want[/i] to continue to enjoy this game. You guys are making it pretty tough though. Even if you require the same fireteam to be formed in order to re-enter where you left off...just give us SOMETHING. Anyway, great idea man. Hope Bungie listens.

Bungie don't need add a feature such a tickets to my opinion. Why people are doing this ? Because you need too much material to upgrade your gears. Some people can't play 12 hours a week to Destiny, some people don't want to do 50 raids. After level 30 it's to long to get the upper levels. Think about the people who will purchase the new collector edition with 3 expansions and have to get level 34 from zero. I have 3 caracters at level 34 and i'm a little bit tired of doing always the same thing to get few things everytime. Progress is to SLOW, game is too REPETITIVE that's the origin of the problem in Destiny.

It would be nice to have something in place to not have to start everything over. I honestly thing 5 round for PoE is a bit much... 3 rounds and a boss I feel is plenty.
