Sick of Thorn?

I have it, refuse to use it 99% of the time. The gun takes very little skill to use. It's overused and overpowered.
I can't wait for the day Bungie balances this weapon in tune with the rest of our arsenals. The game will instantly become more fun because there will be real gun battles and a variety being used for once.
I also can't wait to say I told you so when the thorn users become lost with inability to use another weapon.

I see most of you are missing the main point in attempting to convey. The thorn is too easy to use and kill with, hence why it is so widely used. Since your momma never told you, I will; variety is the spice of life. Not getting into a real gun battle because 70% of the community took the easy way out- shot twice, ran and waited for the kill is not variety. It's lame and boring.

People use the thorn because it's the best so a lot of people use it to be honest I wouldn't be any fun if it was all equal. I suck at PVP I get frustrated sometime mostly because I'm playing people better then me. But that's the only way to get better. Never once said nerf. I have however seen dominant guns and said (got to get me one of those.)

How much longer before Bungie acknowledges the over use of this scrub gun? If they would release a break down of weapons used rather than hotsl spots on a map for ToO, it would be embarrassing to see the percentage of scrubs running these try hard setups.

1 Reply1- you can beat anyone you get the drop on if you're half way decent in PVP 2- if you don't land head shots it's not good, landing head shots consistently takes real skill. A true guru with thorn can be just as good with any other hand cannon. 3- whatever kills most people on this game the most is what most people want nerfed. Before it was AR's, now it's hand cannons and shotguns, there's never going to be a balance - people will use whatever kills the fastest - whatever that is will become OP.

Don't you think that even tho it is "OP" it makes you a better player? Meaning it makes the player that doesn't have it better. I don't have it so I can't use it, obviously. So I had to get good with my best option against it. I was terrible with hand cannons but I got hawkmoon and have worked on shot placement. I wouldn't say I'm good at PvP but not bad either. As of late I have been doing very well. But the point is as much as I hate Thorn it makes me a better player.

I have it, I might have less than 50 PvP kills with it. I don't even use it at all. I never ever use an exotic primary in PvE and in PvP I am a Hawkmoon user.

I just posted a topic about this. By not using the thorn, you are not promoting a nerf. The more people that use thorn and kill with it, the more Bungie will be tempted to nerf hand cannons when they check the numbers. That's how the auto rifle nerf came around and the pulse rifle buff came around. So equip your thorn and go kick ass. Show Bungie the nerf is needed. Don't just complain on a forum.
