Think about that.
"The Dark Blows" and "House of Disappointment" are supposed to be 'expansions', yet with each one released, we lose available gear.
An "expansion" would expand on something. As it is, the size of the vendor item lists... is static. I won't get into the fact that the gear keeps getting uglier and uglier.
So... instead of marketing these DLC as offering "hundreds of new weapons and armors", why not tell the truth and say that you're just rotating equipment like Wal-Mart does clothing?
Or, why is it impossible to keep the old gear and simply expand the Vendor's inventories with each new "expansion"? You know, like the definition of expanding on something?
Oh, right; I forgot that Bungie is an alternate way to spell "incompetent"...
-
A lot of old gear many would have liked to keep was forced to be dismantled such as my old iron banner arms and boots. A little warning they wouldn't be available or at least more than one rotation would have been nice. Now I can never finish the set on some characters. Now with ascending they were suddenly relevant again. Bungie just moves on without compensation and a safety net for prior mistakes, invalidating gear in the dark below. I would have liked to see at least one more rotation of iron banner and queens gear before they changed the inventory.

Bump. I did keep some gear from before crota & spent a etheric light on it. The armor value increased but the stats stayed the same... I don't think it was supposed to work like that because if you upgrade a old exotic the armor value and the stats also increase
-
Agreed, bumped... bungie is just great at replacing sh!t with bullsh!t in terms of game design, bugs, balance, content... just everything.
-
Maybe just stop playing if it bothers you?
-
Bump!
-
Expansion sounds better than "recycled assets". This whole game is an experiment to see what works and what doesn't. That data is being put into Destiny 1.5 (or "Destiny 2"). You're paying them to Beta test, essentially.
-
Bump. This season's Wal-Mart clothing line isn't a fashionable.
-
Agreed, I think it should all be avaible.
-
Mr. Nox, you're posts are always spot on. Bump.
-
Or they should at least fix there danm servers

Edited by Toc Dabbers: 6/7/2015 6:15:15 AMSpot on good sir. This game became an utter disappointment after the "expansions"
-
F yes this dude is danm right
-
They admit to it. "Weapons found in disk are placeholders." Apparently they are so lazy that there are only so many placeholders and have to remove old instead of adding new. This has always been their lazy policy/ standards
-
They have to know their shit reeks of laziness! They just don't give a shit!
-
It's funny that this etheric light can upgrade year 1 items, but not many people have those items. Why? Because most of moved on and didn't want to clog up our vaults with old ineffective 300 attack gear.
-
-
They have to remove the old stuff otherwise the Vault would have to get a huge overhaul for space.
-
Okay, I partially agree, but only in regards to that there has never been any warning for things disappearing. Or what. It was MUCH worse when there was no aesthetic to your gear. Everybody at Level 30 was wearing VoG armor, Everyone at Level 32 wearing CE armor or towards the end, IB armor. Now that Etheric light can upgrade everything, people are lamenting the old equipment which they would have liked to have and leveled if they had any chance at knowing that equipment could matter one day. Those are the complaints I've heard. People want their own choice in visual looks and armor. The new system allows that. Its just that if you disassembled your old Queen's Wrath helmet, well, sorry for you, you can't get it back. Exclusivity seems to be the theme with Destiny and that is where they have it totally wrong. They make things that should be unique, all the same (the old armor leveling where everyone looked the same) and now told no one about the ability to upgrade their gear until it was far too late. So you can look different now....well, if you keep playing...as the expansions come out...good luck!
-
I completely agree with yah the new gear is trash they do have a couple of gems for each character but to pay 20 bucks for mostly garbage is just downright ridiculous. But the thing that saddens me the most is they didn't upgrade the one vender that needed the biggest upgrade of all.... yes I am talking about the old leathery hag know as Eva Levante. How hard would it have been to add a handful of new shaders and emblems to her list??????
-
Love the Titan POE helmet, it makes you look like a drones crashed into your head :)
-
-
I blame the older gen. consoles for the lack of inventories expanding.
