I'm pretty sure that's what most people are doing it for this time. The gear is only light 36.

Level doesn't matter in crucible. Also IB just has the "more ammo" perks and crucible perks.

Yes, you sure did. Level does not matter in crucible. And we are on a thread discussing IB. So maybe you can see why many who are on the thread are wondering why IB gear doesn't set you up for 34 yet, considering you'll likely need to take down plenty of 34s to get it.

It's also about half price (the other half of the price being Etheric Light) and is intended to be upgraded.

I figured that's what the light was for when I looked stuff over. I guess if this way you can at least choose what you want to upgrade.
