Does backstab stack on it's buff?
Only oneshots if get from behind, I believe backstab does as well. (Haven't used in crucible, as I assume the stupid definition of "behind" exists there as well, maybe not though...)

You dont even have to melee from behind. Theres some glitchy buisness going on with those fine gauntlets that we'll just say involves being invisible+blink. I don't want to describe it too much. But go mess around in world. Ive used the sting from the front.

Edited by Hopeinmo: 6/9/2015 10:06:05 PMPoison from any angle, but the boost from the back.... the buggyness could be attributed to lagg (they move forward a lil bit, and you end up being behind them when landing blow... it is lagg issues :P I assume )
-
I noticed it on cosmodrone. I would jump and just before landing blink toward a dreg. As soon as you blink the invisibility wears off but somehow im still getting the poison.
-
Oh...... (ok I shall level up and test out, on friends, not mine, I do not think I found a pair on mine yet) but! my understanding is that none of the perks (poison or backstab) have anything to do with cloaking (thats a second bonus that does not affect other, except ease of movement) But I may be wrong..., that said, sounds like kepris sting cloak operates different that normal crouch cloak (so far, using invisible melee strike... vanish? uses up charge, but does not recloak, depending which method you cloaked with)
-
Im using on a bladedancer so im double dipping on the skill tree. Because I have blink strike I think that may be why. I can squat to go invisible with the gauntlets. Then run up and do the jumping I described. I think im getting the poison bonus because of blink strike making me invisible on contact.
-
mechanics are all screwy, if not getting the backstab main bonus, then I assume venom is coded separately XD)
-
Yup, it works only from behind. But i don't think it stacks :/ maybe stacks with the Thorn's Burning effect, i'll test it out sometime.
-
Friend had them, I have thorn.... dang, 2 separate accounts! I assume meleeing a player from behind is easier and more reliable than meleeing a hive from behind? (since all NPC's have eyes in the backs of their heads... I assume their back no longer turned to you as you initiate the attack... at least from a coding perspective)
-
Bruh it's really blammin hard to backstab in pvp... Believe me, it's REALLY hard.
-
Edited by Hopeinmo: 6/9/2015 2:27:56 PMI am always shotgunning or shoulder charging people in the back, how hard can blink strike be to get same distance? (I find quite often I ma chasing someone and was wishing I was my hunter.... they usually do not know I am there :P or see me on radar and are not gonna stop XD) My main point with that though is how hard it is, since you cannot really tell what is considered a thrall or acolytes back, as well as the stupid awareness programming they have, ... and from a coding perspective, once they know your there,, their back is no longer to you >.<
-
ur invisible, they can't know you're there unless you touch them -.-
-
all it takes is one tenth of second of awareness for npc (main point being, it is easier to get behind a human than a computer, in my experience with eris bounties
-
I noticed while testing these that when you use your jump ability while trying to backstab something in PvE they will look at and watch you for awhile if you only bunny hop they are easy prey.
-
Interesting, but why even hop? or am I missing something?
-
I assume you mean why would you jump but well when your invisible you got a timer so you can't always look for the stairs.
-
Oh... Well, was testing, ... exotic mechanics a lil odd, and I didnt want to discuss further, cause theres too much going on in it atm XD Do you get bouns damage (4x) while airborn too?

Edited by MasterCJ117: 6/10/2015 6:01:09 PMMaybe I didn't think about that although I didn't get the Backstab on a Reaver Captain only burned it backstab might not affect shielded enemies, at lvl 34 took a Yellow lvl 32 Hydra down to 25% health though
