Totally worth it, dude. I love mine.
It's one of the top dogs in crucible, and basically any story mission that doesn't have an "epic" modifier.
Don't let the stats fool you, the gun is really stable, although the range is a bit lacking. The regen/reload perk is AMAZING, especially if you have a hard time keeping your health up or your mag full
In the crucible, it's a two burst to the head, or three burst to the body to kill, dealing 34 damage to the head, and I BELIEVE, but am unsure, as to the body damage, but I think it's 27.
Any tier one enemy (dregs, shanks, vandals, acolytes, thrall, psions, legionairs, goblins, harpies) it's normally a one shot burst kill.
Tier two enemies (captians, knights, centurions, colossus, wizards, hobgoblins, minotaurs) will take little more work, but it still gets the job done.

This is all after I max it out, correct? Just got it yesterday, looking to level it up tonight.

The stability is basic. But the "Red Death" perk is about half way there. The first three weapons I ascended were red death, hawkmoon and ice breaker, red death being the very first. You have the non-ascendable version, so you're set. Trust me, it's worth everything you put into it.
