Also to put in a guardian editor as well. Race-switching might be a bit of a stretch, but I'd like to be able to change my features at least. Why not assign the Guardian Editor to the Guardian Outfitter in Tower?

  • Because you are not meant to change your guardian on a whim just because you want a new look because someone else has a guardian similar to yours.

  • Who ever said anything about wanting to get a new look because someone looks the same as me? I just want to change my look because I don't like my initial features. Almost every other MMO game with RPG elements has this type of feature. Its not like our Guardian is special. Our Guardian has zero personality, hardly any backstory, and no character development. Our character is just basically a blank-slate hero meant for you to customize to defeat enemies.

  • Does not matter if other games have the feature; not every game has to have the same feature just because other games have it. You want a new toon delete your current one and create a new toon.

  • Why is that an acceptable solution for you? What harm is there to customizing your character when you want to? I don't understand your logic. And of course it matters if other games have it. If you create a modern stealth game without as much stealth mechanics as either Hitman or Splinter Cell, you're not creating competition between titles. There's no reason for someone to experience a lazy stealth experience when there are games out there doing it better. Look at WoW, for example. With their new expansion, Warlords of Draenor, they completely took away flying in the new continent. Their reasons were that they wanted everyone to be immersed in the world. It is now 7 months past release, and they confirmed that flying now may never come to future expansions. They took away a feature that many people enjoyed, and now Final Fantasy XIV's new expansion Heavansward is adding flying to their game. Three million people have already dropped out of WoW. Although those sub drops aren't going to be due to only flying being removed (There isn't much content, Garrisons are basically a micro-managing facebook mini-game, and they took away many combat abilities for every class). While other games seem to be progressing, WoW is regressing. If Destiny 2 cannot progress out of the very basic MMO tropes (RNG loot, quests, raids, dungeons), then it will continue to be criticized. Its a shame, because with gunplay feels no great, I would expect everything else to at least have that same amount of attention.

  • It is an acceptable solution because not all games are meant to be like each other or have the feature of other games just because those games had the feature. No it does not matter if other games had it. Not every game ever made has to have any feature that any other game has just because they are similar at all. Not every title has to compete against each other. Not every title was meant to compete with each other. Not everyone cares about exact details in how a game plays. You may be picky about such things but not every gamer is. just because one game had a feature does not mean it has to keep that feature for all future editions of the game ever. The game developer decides what features the game will have and the direction of that games progress not the players ever. Every feature every created for one genre of games does not have to exist in every other game of that same or similar genre just because one player or some players think so. they are not meant to be carbon copies of each other with just different stories and characters toward what features they have. Destiny is not a traditional mmo, it is a mmo styled game. it is not a traditional rpg, it is rpg styled. destiny is first and foremost a fps shooter. it was not ever going to have all the features of mmo or rpg games ever. If you thought it was it was you who assumed incorrectly. they never promised it would ever be like every other mmo or rpg nor does it have to be either.

  • it would also make sense if they did it at the character screen. A to log in X to delete Y to change appearance also with that maybe they could add in special features like eye patches, beards, sunglasses maybe. just like grimorie cards but if you do a certain thing you get special customisation options examples could be - play over 200 hours - grizzly beard kill over 100,000 enemies - eye patch finish a full raid playthrough 100 times - cigar just my opinion sort of thing

  • That'd be awesome to have milestones to customize your guardian with. Hell, they could do the same with shaders/class cosmetics/ships. complete a huge achievement, and get a neat thing.

  • There's so much potential to this gam, we just gotta hope and see what they come up with in this 10 year project. it's only been 9 months and they're starting to make it better so here's hoping!

  • Honestly, its too late for Destiny with these type of changes. With Destiny 2 already in development, the only major changes is going to occur in that game. I'm also going to be extremely cautious with further releases. After seeing how much of a 180 Destiny turned around in terms of the story and campaign development, I'm not pre-ordering Destiny 2. Too much of a risk, I'll wait for word-of-mouth.
