Keep reforging NA3D1 Salvation State, or just buy Deadshot Luna?
100+ motes of light later and I've still yet to see full auto + firefly on my Salvation State. I'm attracted to the gun for its high stability and impact, but I'm getting very tired of funneling every mote into it while other legendaries sit in my vault begging for some reforging attention.
Deadshot Luna SR1 comes out-of-the-box with full auto, explosive rounds and army of one. Does anyone have one and can comment on how good it is for PvE? Should I just grab one and give up on the Salvation State?
Edit: Thank you to everyone who encouraged me to keep reforging. Literally 3 motes later I got full auto + explosive rounds + firefly (equipped on my Titan) :)

I recently started using an old salv state from my vault and it terminates every single renegade guardian I encounter. It has full auto, armor piercing rounds, and crowd control. I love this gun. It kills and kills and kills. It just keeps on killing. I have other scouts of course like shadow, nitc, rapier, treads upon stars, vision, doom, not like the others, and all of the exotics - but nothing is like this salvation state. I prefer it above all others right now. If it was a woman I would -blam!- her deeply but fondly in the old peach. lol

2 RepliesI have a Salvation State with Full Auto, and while it is nice, I don't find it fires fast enough that it really needs it, because it really rewards aiming and firing. If anything, I like my current Salvation State with Third Eye, because I'm ADSed for longer with scout rifles, especially without full auto. That being said, my trigger finger gets tired fast with non-auto scouts. ;( Now what I really want is full auto and third eye on the NL Shadow...

Best forge of this weapon, imao, is (1) Full Auto, (2) Hand Laid Stock(or Braced Frame), and (3) Crowd Control (for better PvE, like Prison Of Elders). I dont know if theres just one Scout rifle thats better than all the others. Salvation State is one of my TOP 2 favorite Scout Rifles because of its incredible Impact and it's Stabilty can be fully maxed out with Hand Laid Stock or Braced Frame. What makes this weapon both good AND bad is its Rate of Fire. Perfect for Patrols and the first 80% of most Strikes & Bounties. Its Rate of Fire will train you to get great at precision target aquisition, though a higher Rate Of Fire would have you running out of Primary Ammo. That's not good. But, in a more hectic enviroment, like a big-boss or PvP, you'll prefer the trade off of Rate Of Fire to Impact. Thats why Deadshot Luna or the NL Shadow 701X is equally important to be carrying AT ALL TIMES, for the sake of always having the right Rate Of Fire scout rifle - ready to go at a moments notice. So, what I'm saying is - if you really prefer shooting a Scout Rifle (like me) you'll want TWO, like the Salvation State -AND- the NL Shadow 701X... both forged with Full Auto and a perk for Increased Stability. But if you get a Deadshot Luna or NL Shadow 701X without a Stability increasing perk ... you wont be hitting your targets very well, period. Salvation State already comes with decent Stability, but getting a perk to max it out is DELICIOUS in game play, considering its high Impact. But when it comes to the Deadshot Luna or NL Shadow 701X, you HAVE to have a Stability perk for it AND Full Auto to appreciate the difference it can make from what you'd been used to. [And, btw, NL Shadow 701X is better than Deadshot Luna, fyi]

Full auto works great on salvation state with stability perks or firefly or reload perks. If no full auto precision perks and casket mag is excellent

Salvation State with Icarus, [Explosive Rounds/High Caliber/SmallBore], and Hidden Hand make mine a beast when running (really, jumping) into or away from anything in both PvP or PvE. My hunter lurves it so much b/c it's [i]very versatile[/i]. My Titan prefers the Zero Point LOTP or Shadow with Replenish, [Smallbore/High Caliber/Agility], and firefly. Deadshot is just a collectors item at this point since it's stability is awful and doesn't really compare. My advice: roll for your playing strengths.

I rolled my deadshot with full auto a stability perk and outlaw and it's basically an auto rifle but it's actually good because it's like a 5 headshot kill

Salvation State > NL Shadow > Deadshot. However, if you have impeccable aim, then Gheleon's > Salvation State. Even though the Fang is almost identical to the Salvation State, the ability to re-roll the Salvation State makes it better, so you can use Full Auto, Explosive Rounds, or whatever else floats your boat. Hope that helps.

Keep rolling. Forget the dead shot. Looks nice but is garbage. Highly disappointed in mine. Had to dismantle it after trying different rolls. Luna is not worth the time.
