Anybody know what tthis perk actually does on a weapon? I cannot tell the difference between having the perk and not having this perk. Is it broken? Any help thanks

Opinions on these 2 sights for pulse rifle target acq?? Truesight is or red dot ors1. Rolled 26 times to get the other perks I wanted (battle runner/high call/headseeker) don't want to roll again to get all 3 so I'll compromise the sight. But which one had higher target acquisition?

1 ReplyEdited by KiloOscarZulu: 6/2/2015 8:55:58 AMI don't think anyone outside of Bungie knows what it is. But there are two things people here are discussing: a) aim assist b) target acquisition These are two separate stats for a gun. Aim assist is a hidden stat/perk that every gun has. Target acquisition is also a separate stat/perk. What I *think* target acquisition does is to increase the size of the hit box for precision shots. From my experience, I seem to be able to get precision shots much easier with guns with enhanced target acquisition like VoC. I would shoot above the head, or at the neck and it would still count as precision, while the same shot without target acquisition wouldn't count as precision. Aim assist is completely different - it's how 'sticky' the aim is to the enemy in your sight. If you are aiming at a target and another target enters your sights between you and the original target, the aim assist will tend to 'stick' to the new target and drags your aim away from the initial target.

It is the bomb. hidden hand is a good one. kind of aim assist feature.
-
Makes your bullets "pull" towards the targets head a bit more
-
Increases size of precision hitbox.

1 ReplyTried it on a fusion rifle. I didn't miss once. Seemed like the "bullets" tracked the target enough to get the kills I normally wouldn't have got. It's nothing like what those homing things are that Vandals shoot at you, but it was noticeable.

I think it's helps slightly with aim assist towards the head

3 RepliesEver have it where you have your target reticule on something and then another mob runs infront of them and your reticule "snaps" to them instead and follows it. i believe that i s what it is.
-
More aim assist.
-
2 RepliesIt's for shitty snipers I think
-
You know when you are aiming on an opponent and another runs in front of him and your gun decides to start aiming on that guy instead? That's "target acquisition". When you aim with your sniper and get a headshot even though you know you missed completely? Target acquisition.

It's aim assist. It will pull your sight towards to center point of a target. Possibly useful against Vex Goblins and such who's critical point is in the chest.
-
It increases the hitbox of the enemy, that is all.
-
3 Repliesit should be renamed to "call of duty mode", i refuse to use a weapon that has it
-
It increases your weapons Aim Assist :)
-
Handy on auto-weapons, cause guided bullets (to a degree). Aggravating on precision weapons, cause it'll frequently target the wrong mob in groups and yank your sights around.
-
What it does is increase the bullet magnetism and sticky aim on things and yes it does work. it wont make you get headshots easier no, it just means it draws your weapon to them easier when passing over them with your sights. consider it sticky aim on steroids.
-
Send it and Hidden Hand perks really stand out in the way they make enemy hitboxes bigger. You are more likely to hit headshots with these weapons. It also gives a slight nudge to aim assist. ( each weapon has its own aim assist stat. )

5 RepliesI wish I could turn aim assist off. It gets me killed more then I like
-
Bigger hitbox = more headshots that wouldn't be
-
2 RepliesIt barely boosts aim assist. To the point where you can't really notice a change. Like 5-9 points depending on the weapon.
-
Gives you better aim-assist lock-on I would imagine, but I'm not sure.
-
4 RepliesIt's for people who suck at getting headshots
-
The auto aim assist is higher. Essentially the hit box on a target is bigger. Think how GG works. You don't need to be aiming at them, if you're a bit off it will still register the hit because of the high aim assist. So what the perk does is just make it easier to hit your target and headshots.
-
Increases aim assist, I get kills I shouldn't usually get with that mod
-
2 RepliesBoosts the aim assist.
