Exotic Warlock Boots - Hermes's Wings
As we all know, warlocks don't have Exotic boots. My only thought why this is so is possibly because Bungie thinks you really wouldn't see them from under the cloaks, that's still a rather god awful reason to disallow a character boots, especially considering not many of the exotic boots to date are much to flaunt around anyways, my opinion of course.
There have been many posts about potential exotic warlock boots and this is my idea, Hermes's Wings. My though is to take advantage of the new perks/buffs revolved around shooting your firearm while in the air and damaging enemies in the air and combining that with the warlock's unique ability to float while aiming. Simply put, Hermes's Wings would allow a warlock using the Angel of Light perk to levitate in the air for a longer period of time. Short and simple.
I believe this would be a pretty fun perk while also avoiding op status as it is not an attack buff but rather an ability that allows the wearer to become more tactical.
So what do my fellow warlock's and the rest of the community think? Would this be fun? Would it be OP? A waste of an exotic? What are your boot ideas for any class?

It would need to be combined with some damage resistance as the main problem with staying airborne isn't the duration but the vulnerability. Otherwise, it's a solid idea.

I would actually use boots that grant battle runner to every gun. Even more so if it could stack 3x

6 RepliesOr how about this instead: [b]Wings of Icarus[/b] The longer you use [i]Angel of Light[/i] to float in mid-air, the more damage you deal and the more damage you take. I think that creates a fun, push-your-luck style mechanic that merges well with [i]Fireborn[/i] (get overenthusiastic and you'll have to self-res!). What do you think?

I like this idea, and I think Angel of Light is under utilized. I'm thinking in Trials of Osiris. There is always those long sniper sight lines that everyone flocks to and its quite predictable. With Angel of Light you can jump up and get unique sniper sight lines!

These would be cool boots. Like the other boots, they would only be useful in very specific situations. However, fighting Urrox or playing anything with the airborne midifier, these could be very useful.

I like the idea. It would be fun to shoot more warlocks out of the air in PVP. ;-)

And just like that, Angel of Light just became an insane opener to run up to enemies and shotgun their faces off!

1 ReplyThey should allow you to have complete control of your movement while in the air and be able to shoot while airborne while having %100 accuracy and not falling (both subclasses not just Voidwalker and sunsinger)

What about: pressing sprint while ascending during glide, allows perfectly horizontal(and forward/backward) movement (mid-air) for 5 seconds...

How about, the perk gives you angel of light No matter what subclass you are So you can use some other perks

I think maybe make it last longer, and have no cooldown. Such as you can float in mid air and shoot, let go of the aiming to drop down altitude and press it again to float again. Etc
