"Git gud scrub" Is a terrible thing to say

That saying is rude, inconsiderate and doesn't aid any conversation. I've been commenting on these forums a lot recently, because the FIFA and Uncharted forums I used to go on closed down. I enjoy the community aspect of those forums for the most part, and I was hoping to find it here. I'd say it's here, half of the time. These forum are so hostile and toxic, that any time that there are disagreeing conflicts between any people, the best thing to say in the situation around here is either to tell them, "Git gud," call them "Scrub", combine the two, or just immediately insinuate that they are garbage players who are "salty" from getting their butts handed to them in PvP or PvE. I enjoy the competition and rivalries people share on here, but like I've said before, the competition is closer to toxic than friendly competition. We should strive for a better and friendly community. We're all here because we enjoy the game despite it's many downfalls. Instead of acting like jerks to each other with insults, just have your heated conversation with reasoning and counter-arguments. Don't just slam their gaming abilities. Make your comments count. Tl;dr Why is this such a hostile forum community? We should rally as a group of players who just can't stay away from Destiny, and just competitively, but constructively encourage one another.

  • Over 70% of the people on these forums are 18 or lower. I'm 50% sure that this is 100% correct.

  • Because of the first rule of the internet. In true MMORPGs that don't have hiding/server hopping (WoW) you had to maintain your character's reputation. Act like a know it all blow hard, and people would not want to play w/ your character. In destiny, none of that matters. It's either clan up, or go matchmaking w/ RANDOs. no middle ground That's exactly what

  • Because most of these post are players coming here to complain about something being too hard. Git gud scrub, best thing to say to get them to shut up so bungie doesn't nerf this game so much that it is no longer challenging. For example these last two weeks the forums have exploded with "lighthouse is too hard" or "lighthouse is stupid, pvp players shouldn't have it". People are saying it's too hard and I've seen many suggest only needing to go 4-0 to go to the lighthouse (easy as hell) or that it should be open to everyone (because they are not good at pvp and are mad they can't go). So these self entitled assholes do need to be "told" and being rude is a good way to go about it. So when somebody rants on here that something needs to be nerfed and their kd is 0.56 then yes git gud scrub will be said and needs to be said.

  • Two words: keyboard warrior. Because they want to say something but don't have anything positive to say. Walls of text have no emotion and can be interpreted the wrong way. I think the only definition for scrub would be something like, "one who is inexperienced in the basic mechanics, operation or fundamentals of (fill in the blank)" (the only exception is for those definite troll posts). For example, im decent at pvp and pretty good at PVE(which isnt hard) but ToO and lvl 35 PoE (even 34 PoE with 33s) kicked my but this last week. I'll probably get several "scrub "comments for even mentioning it. Even once someone understands how something works, not everyone's brain and hands work the same or are efficient. I play with one guy who won't even venture into PVP for the Thorn bounty because his reaction time isn't fast enough. Not a scub, just doesn't have the reaction time.

      • But sometimes it's the truth. I had to tell myself that when I got embarrassed in trials. 50 rumble matches later I got flawless in ToO

      • It's a video game, which means many players are just kids or adults that have not yet mature enough because of such video games. I don't pay attention to these kids. It's normal for them to be toxic. Eventually they'll grow up and be mature someday and they'll think exactly as you. As a mature human being with intelligence.
