I think it's very interesting you bring up the idea of evolution leading to consciousness, or something along that line.

It got me thinking on what, theoretically, the origin of consciousness could be. I'm going to have to look up what some different beliefs are.

This article, at least, is some nice food for thought. It's more philosophy than science, but it's not completely unfounded. I have an idea on what your thoughts might be, but I'd love to hear them anyways.
