The real reason the lighthouse is so upsetting
The lighthouse is such an infuriating topic because destiny was supposed to be an incredible pve based game. By making the best gear come from pvp Bungie basically tried to completely change direction from the people who bought the game originally. Obviously people are going to be mad. Is trials fun (when there's not lag or ridiculous strategies) heck yeah. Should it be the ONLY way to get to the lighthouse? No. It should be one of at least 2 ways. Preferably a timed hard raid with limited wipes or something along those lines. Do not change the current way simply add another path. I will continue to attempt to go flawless because it is enjoyable and challenging but it feels very limited as to getting rewards rn. What do you think?

23 RepliesPvE players get: Main Story Strikes Nightfalls Weeklies and Dailies Raids (VoG still has the best loot drops in the game, nothing compares) Prison of Elders PvP players get: Normal Crucible Iron Banner Trials of Osiris Poor little PvE players have nothing to play!!! OH THE HUMANITY!!! Even if there was a hard pve version of the lighthouse the scrubby casuals would still complain.

I don't pvp much, but I have no problem with how they've done this. I look forward to trying something new and having a reason to push the game in a direction I have not really explored. Maybe I will fail, but it gives me a reason to play.

5 RepliesI bought the game for its halo-like pvp. Im betting that most people who still played halo 3 years after its release werent playing it for its story. Bungie has the data on the players activity and I expect them to move into that direction where they feel they keep players playing the longest. My personal guess is that the pvp player will be more loyal. There is no other shooter that I'd like to play right now.

I've gotten all the ToO primaries and the only one that's somewhat good is the messenger...in my opinion they are more of a trophy than actual weapons

Its really annyoing that PvE heroes keep whining about being unable to get PvP stuff. There has to be something for everybody, if you want it you gotta practise your PvP. I play both so I get to enjoy the full spectrum of the game, but I reckon a lot of PvP'ers never do/did raid cause the dont wanna put teh work in getting a grp. Goes both ways, if you want stuff in this game earn it - fair and square (No Xur pun.)

This is the first time you are rewarded for doing well in pvp stop complaining. Actually you are not as whiny as most posters i apologize, but do you see what i mean? Iron banner could be done by anyone good or bad, but to go flawless takes a bit of skill and you should be rewarded

Here's how "PvE only" players can get to the light house. Become an overall Destiny player who plays PvE and PvP. Then go flawless. It's the only thing in this game truly earned besides exotic bounties and some PvE only players boost the exotic bounties that require crucible play like thorn. No PvP? No lighthouse. PvE players aren't entitled to go to the lighthouse just because they bought the game. They're not excluded from content by anyone except themselves.

2 RepliesI play all aspects of the game, and that's just ridiculous. The lighthouse is PvP endgame content and shall remain that way. PvP has always had reward system issues, but now we have something to work toward. The forums are full of these "PvE Lighthouse alternatives." You all fail to realize that the followers of Osiris set up this 'Crucible tournament' and that the Lighthouse is for those guardians who completed the Trails flawlessly.

26 RepliesEdited by bgame: 6/2/2015 2:45:27 PMThe only way to acquire mythoclast is beating atheon (PvE locked), the only way to acquire nechrocasm is to beat Crota (PvE locked), up until recently the only way to achieve the level cap was raids (PvE locked)...... Most of the best weapons used today for PvE and pvp were acquired via raids (PvE locked)...... The pvp players deserve "end game" content just as much as the PvE players. Just like they had to venture into the PvE world to get stuff so must all you PvE people. Trials isn't really that hard, yes there are teams that are going to wreck you sometimes, but with the right strategy most teams can be overcome. Keep in mind too I'm a PvE player and I've been to the lighthouse 4 times already.

No. The PvP players of the game FINALLY have something of their own besides same old Iron Banner. We've been asking since day 1 and it's been nothing but stuff for PvE players. Stop trying to take this away from us, we waited patiently for our time while you had everything. Stop bitching, stop asking. This is OUR time. Get over it.

2 RepliesI'm a PVP player and bought this game for the multiplayer. I never did anything PVE related till I hit Lvl 25 from PVP gear. After that I stepped into PVE thanks to some friends and what have I been exposed to. Endgame PVE content: weekly nightfall, VoG, Crota End, PoE, best weapons in game and better chances at exotics. Endgame PVP Content: Iron Banner (Once a month) and now Trials of Osiris. All pvp got was maps and had to step into PVE to reach max light level. I never once saw a complaint from PVP players like the way PVE players are now complaining about Trials. So to people saying there should be a easier way to get lighthouse. NO. For PVP players this our form of a Raid and challenging content so stop complaining! Not being a dick or anything just real talk.

10 RepliesBefore this update; Everything, I repeat everything was PVE based. The best light level gear, weapons, etc. Once they added something special to PVP that's challenging. People whine when they can't achieve Mercury, they cry constantly and blame it on lag switching and bungies servers. It's ridiculous. Stop acting like you're entitled to everything.

4 RepliesEveryone is whining just because it gives elemental primaries, but most don't realize POE drops them as well. I got the wolfslayers claw (the assault rifle, I think that's what it is called) in solar burn from skolas this week.
