If ToO really is about Best Vs. BEST
Then 9-0 ers should play 9-0 ers... Right?
Champs vs Champs
No feeding 9-0 ers easy wins ovee 2-2 or 1-2 ers. They want to brag about 9-0? Really earn it against other 9-0 teams.
As for the stragglers, pit em against each other. They arent "good" to the 9-0 ers but to each other its a friggin battle to the death... Competition for EVERYONE

Agree. Posted this idea last week. Gives the option to do just that if you unlock Tiers. Might have to have shorter times this would be available to funnel players in. Suggestion for Osiris to add to the competitive nature. Could be monthly like IB? Same Osiris, but when you go flawless, you unlock a new Tier w/ rewards and can choose to compete against others who unlocked that Tier. Top tier rewards would need to equal the difficulty of reaching that level. Flawless Bronze: unlocked by trials passageband obtained by going flawless in ToO Flawless Silver: unlocked and obtained by going flawless vs other flawless bronze Flawless Gold: unlocked and obtained by going flawless against flawless Silver Flawless Platinum: unlocked and obtained by going flawless against flawless gold Each rank needs to be unlocked by going flawless. All members of your party must have unlocked the rank. When you enter ToO , you select which rank you want to compete against. You will be matched with other flawless runners. You can always compete at lower ranks if you choose. Bungie can determine rewards, but emblems would have to be one reward. They could then run Platinum level competitions that would pit some of the best team PvP players. Flawless run is impressive. Pitting other flawless runners against each other would be interesting. Thoughts?

It's set up lie that so there would be less DCs. If I'm on an 8 game win streak, me I don't want to be DC'd because in playing someone who lives in Australia because you want "equal competition."

It's a slippery slope, and if it's done improperly can lead to disappointment. Obstacles like having the worst player as fireteam leader. Players remaking characters during the week to be paired against worse players. People in the middle skill level throwing matches so they can face the scrubs. And that's just off the top of my head, I'm sure there's all sorts of cheezy ways around it that I haven't even thought of

this only makes it harder for people that are struggling now. then there really will be no hope of visiting the lighthouse. not that it would affect me in any way.

That would require the matchmaking to match people based off skill. This way idiots can brag about how good they are while they get comfortable in their parent's basement.

6 RepliesIf 9-0 ers played 9-0 ers, then 0-3 ers would play 0-3ers. This is an event where you play a random team, and (while that would be fun) I think that then 9-0 ers would lose their stakes just because they're playing people at higher levels, while bad kids would be playing bad kids. Do you really want bad kids in the lighthouse just because they played other bad ones? It is the only true test of skill and strategy in this game. is should remain as it is

Your right. Flawless are to scared to play against another decent team. Would rather get matched against sum randomly matched dudes that are rubbish and get there 9-0. FACT

Then what would be the point of noobs vs noob to get to the lighthouse? Us good players (I barley pvp, iv gone flawless 11 times) wouldn't want to get there. Simple as that.

2 RepliesIt is a competitive gametype, if people can't handle it against random matching then they shouldn't be trying it. Someone commented that pro athletes don't play again amateurs but if there are try outs and they allow walk ons anyone can try but if you don't have any skill you won't get picked. Exactly the same thing since it is a trial to find those worth being picked by Osiris. If the people that complain they can't do it would stop trying and focus on PoE or IB when it is out then that would leave only the top people playing against each other and you'd get your wish. But as the saying goes if you can't take the heat stay out of the kitchen, if you can't handle trials then stay out otherwise focus on improving teamwork to better excel

My team actually do play 9-0 teams often. We see the emblems in and we still beat them.

2 RepliesExactly its one thing to be good against random ,its an other thing to be good against ''pro'' players.Do professional athletes still play against pee-wee leagues?no they're playing against other pro's there be no glory in an easy win like that. You ain't L33T if you beat around players like me, an old fart who's best days of twitch shooting are behind him, the old hand eye coordination ain't what it use to be loll.Or casual dad's who's got maybe 2 hours per week to play,practice with. Lets not forget games are about fun not to feed your ego,an if you do ,do it for the competitive nature of PvP shooters ,then wouldn't the glory of a win be more rewarding and meaningful if you played with similar skilled players?. But the again its mostly the games fault to not provide that possibility ,without skilled based matchmaking and private matches you can't set up these competitive matches between pro's and pro's ,casual vs casuals clan vs. clan ect.

It boggles the mind that this isn't how Trials is set up anyway. Did Bungie just leave everyone behind when they left Halo? So many basic multiplayer mistakes.....

I did find when starting a fresh card I would usually get matched with a team that had just left the LH with their sweet sweet loot drops. after having my ish pushed in, the next 4-6 matches were usually pretty decent teams, we won some & we lost some. then for matches 7-9 it was back to try-hard central, where I was usually sent packin back to the reef.

2 RepliesThey should add different playlist for the amount of wins you have. If you have 1-3 wins then you're placed in a playlist with people only in those wins. So it keeps changing playlist every few wins. If you are 8-0 then you're placed against another team that's 8-0.

All of the trash of the community would be able to go flawless because they'd be going up against a heavily biased sample group of destiny players, as supposed to having their skills accurately placed within the bellcurve of skill level in the destiny community. Short version: stop being a whiny b1tch just because you always match players better than you. That's the point. They're better than you and can go 9-0, and you can't. They get to go to the lighthouse, you don't. Suck it up, buttercup

It's called ranked matchmaking and it is much needed - I almost feel bad dumping on a lot of these teams but then 5 to 6 matches it get pitted against people that kill me instantly no matter what strategy my team tries rocking. Unless you are the best (which you can't all be the best so 99.9% of you aren't, sorry), than there is a team out there who will beat you every time - and it simply comes down to luck of the matchmaking. I'm not saying people aren't skilled - just pointing out going 9-0 doesn't mean skill until you are pitted against your equals and overcome ;) Still gonna play the shit outa trials every weekend though haha

you will never have a "best vs. best" until they start matchmacking by ping. then you will truly see who is good and who hides behind their lag.
