As a gamer, I have a philosophy too. I expect publishers to create a halfway decent product. The Witcher 3 cleared a score of 92. Bungie wants to raise the bar on players, but how are they in a position to judge people that try to play their game and exclude them from content for not being a certain type of gamer? Bungie, I've proven myself in every possible way in this game regarding skill and diplomacy and leadership etc. Sure, I've almost formed bonds with some of the strangers I play with, but this is the internet and Destiny is just a game. So, what are you doing to prove yourselves to the players? Oh, scoring 4.5 out of 10 on metacritic? 68 out of 100 for the professional critic's score?
