Are Thorns really a problem? A plague in ToO?
I've heard from a couple of friends of mine that Thorn is over used in the trials, is this true? Cause that gun already gives me a headache in control, i haven't been able to play ToO yet cause my friends are just getting to a high enough level. Also do you guys believe Thorn is broken?

The bigger problem is the final round glitch that everyone has been doing with the thorn because in trials there's plenty of time to switch your weapons. They patched the swarm grenade from being stacked pretty quickly but they seem to be slacking on this for some reason.

Well no 1 on my ToO team use thorn and we go 9-0 3 times a week we never lost 3 games on 1 card

Overused to the point where you might as well start calling it 'Trials of Thorn & Final Round' And I dislike the thorn, but I'm forced to use it in order to be competitive because I'm a solo crucible player

There needs to be a complete weapon rebalancing but I don't think bungie cares about the state of the game now just how it'll be for ttk

It has one of, if not the fastest time to kill of any other weapon in the game.

They're overused now because of the auto rifle nerf.. The shorten the range on autos to basically shotgun range.. And now since you have felwinter, matador, and party crasher you can get sniped by those thing.. So you have to try kinda more than usual to get kills.. If they rebuff auto rifles then you would have something to counter it in situations.. But it still would be hard to kill people using thorn if you don't have TLW, Red Death, or the messenger

A lot of people use it, me included. It has great range and damage at that range so it compliments a teammate sniping. However the dot is where it excels, particularly in ToO, it stops recovery for almost 10 seconds, this forces the victim to be defensive and as a result leaves them vulnerable to a rush. In 3v3 this is fatal. DoT should be cut to 3 ticks. Two headshots would still be fatal if you let the dot proc.

They get used, but the people who use them die just as easily.

It is overused I use it myself (that's kind of a lie cause I'm the sniper on my team so I mostly use my LDR.) I only use it to finish off my target when he is one shot. I do this cause I don't like using the DoT.

I've never been in favour of a nerf before, but it's true, the thorn combines too many key features like power, range, reload plus a unique ability. I just used my third etheric light to finally upgrade my Lord high fixer just to realise that there is no good reason to use something else than thorn...

I've outgunned several thorns with the red death. I don't really see what all the whining is about.

A lot of sniping in TrialsOfOsiris, people do use Thorn but it's not tipping the tides over LastWord. If anything the burning effect gives you time to put your ghost in a safe revive location

Thorn is definitely in need of a nerf. I'm a Thorn user BTW. Problem is, once Thorn is nerfed something else will become the PvP king. Hopefully Bungie just nerfs everything until Necrochasm can compete. Then I'll be happy.

It does great in control. It is well rounded in ToO but honestly the vex is superior in the environment. Really just don't use an auto rifle.

No, I'm worse with thorn so mida, red death or vex is what I use

2 RepliesNot a problem but a pain in the ass. If all three on the enemy team have it equiped and all three focus fire it does not matter how skilled you are the three rounds and DoT WILL kill you.
