Economical coin strategy for Trials of Osiris
[b]1.-[/b] Get a fresh Passage.
[b]2.-[/b] Buy the free-win Boon. (optional)
[b]3.-[/b] Play Trials of Osiris until you're 2 wins away from your goal.
[b]4.- [/b] Break away from ToO, go to the Reef, and buy the Mercy (loss-forgiven) Boon & the next-win-counts-as-two Boon.
[b]5.-[/b] Go back into ToO.
Rather than buying all your Boons up front, this lets you be a little more conservative with your coins.
If you're gunning for 9-0, you would break and go to the Reef at 7 wins.
If you're gunning for 5 wins, you would break go to the Reef at 3 wins.
[b]CAUTION: Just make sure you don't buy the Mercy buff after already losing twice. Some people found out the hard way that it adds a loss to your card before taking it away, so they ended up having to start all over.[/b]

1 ReplyWhenever I go for flawless I buy mercy at five wins. Lots of the times I lose the next round but then go on to get 9-0 because of this so I'm gonna keep doing that.

my team bought the free win boon. then we won 4 matches and then bought the other ones. so at 5 wins we won our next one and got to 7. then we won 2 more but could still afford a loss if it would come to that.

I do this basically but buy the 2 after I'm 5-0. Was not as smart with my coins the first week.

2 RepliesEdited by Slaughter919: 5/29/2015 11:15:53 PMOk for those that haven't read through the thread, here's a quick summary of how the Boon of Mercy works If you purchase the Mercy of Osiris and finish with 9 Wins/0 Loss with 1 actual loss, it will count as a Flawless victory. If you purchase the Mercy of Osiris with a loss already on your card, it will not remove the loss. If you purchase the Mercy of Osiris with a loss already on your card, it will not remove the the next loss. So the Boon of Mercy is only useful if applied before your first loss, it can't be used to remove the loss after. However, it's still worth saving until you've reached around 4-5 wins, before you start investing into boons. As you can always restart at any point. What goods using the boon to start 2 and 0 then to lose and have it used up already and then trying to go 7-0 when you can wait until 4-0 to really ensure you have a good shot at making it flawless. So I would personally wait until 4/5-0 to buy the Mercy Boon, after that I would wait until 7-0, then go to the Reef and buy the other boon, so that the next win finishes things off. As for the Favor of Osiris, as far as I know, can only be used to grant you the very first win, so it's up to you if you want to spend the passage coins. If your loaded up on Passage Coins, it's worth getting, however Boon of Osiris - 2x Wins Mercy of Osiris - Loss Removal are infinitely more valuable as they can be used at any point during the Trials Passage, which allows you to save up Passage Coins for when you feel confident your having a solid run.

If i'm running with the "bad ones" i will not buy anything, but with the good ones I will. About the buffs, if I don't have much time to play ToO I usually buy all 3 at the beginning and hope to have a good run, but if not, I usually buy the one of 1 victory free, and the others 2 when we are 5-0 aprox. If we take a loss in the way to 5-0 we reset the pasage and restart, i find this so useful.

10 RepliesI always buy the free-win boon and mercy boon first then wait till 6 wins to buy the next win is two boon. That way if I get an unlucky loss early I can still hit 9-0.

You need to buy the mercy before your first loss. If you buy it after it will not remove it.

Then use the free win for 7 and the Next win counts as 2 for 9 and save the Mercy Boon for when you do need it. This way if you go 4 - 0 or 5 - 0 and lose 2 in a row, you can just restart without wasting any? *Incorrect/Updates Above*
